If there’s one thing guaranteed to eat your data plan’s allowance at an alarming rate, it’s streaming video. T-Mobile has been gradually adding more services to its Binge On program – which allows customers to stream lower-quality video from specific services without using up any of their data – and Re/code reports that Facebook video may be next in line.
Earlier this week news surfaced that AT&T sales of the BlackBerry Priv are worse than expected, and now T-Mobile has stopped selling the Android device on its site. The device is out-of-stock online, but those who are still interested may be able to find them in local carrier stores.

T-Mobile has announced this morning that it will be offering the brand new HTC 10 through its own direct channels from May 18th. Customers will be able to pick one up in store, or online and can snag a free rapid charger and ICE View case if you buy it soon enough.
T-Mobile announced via an official blog post this morning that it has inked a deal with ETECSA (Empresa De Telecomunicaciones De Cuba, S.A), a Cuban telecoms company, to offer cheaper calls to Cuba from the US, and offer roaming there for the first time.

T-Mobile is adding more services to its Binge On and Music Freedom features, which allow its customers to stream video and audio content from certain apps without eating into their wireless plan’s data allowance.
“It’s a fact … Un-carrier Data is different than Carrier Data. It’s better! Nobody does data like T-Mobile!” said Legere. “Un-carrier Data is not only faster, it lasts a lot longer than the other guys… As of today, you stream unlimited music and video from over 100 providers – without ever touching your Un-carrier Data or worrying about overages—and you can stash what you don’t use for later. Try that with Carrier Data. It’s gone in a flash, and you’re getting hit with penalties—or they repossess it after a month or two. Ridiculous!”
Among the 16 total new services being added today, users can now stream audio data-free from Amazon Music, Chilltrax, ESPN Radio, OHIO.FM, PreDanz and Uforia.
And for video, services officially added to the list today include Dailymotion, EPIX, OVGuide, OWNZONES, Viki, YipTV, 120 Sports, Nickelodeon, Spike, and TV Land.
T-Mobile shared some stats about the Binge On and Music Freedom initiatives noting that users have streamed approximately 90 billion songs without using data since launch (around 210 million songs a day). It also pointed out that its users “are watching 2x more from free streaming sites on plans with limited data and have streamed over 190 million hours of video for free.”

The addition of the new services today brings up the number of audio and video services supported by Binge On and Music Freedom to 100 total. You can view a full list of supported services on T-Mobile’s website.
T-Mobile may not traditionally have the MLB coverage that bigger providers like AT&T and Verizon possess, but no one can argue that it isn’t trying to do everything in its power to stand out in other ways. Between April 3rd and April 10th, T-Mobile customers can sign up for a free year of MLB.TV Premium service, a $109.99 value, that features live games for the entire 2016 MLB season.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge officially launch on March 11th, despite the fact that most pre-orders have already been sent and delivered to early adopters. The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge were made official at long last today, with Samsung taking the wraps off of the two devices during its press event at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Now, all of the major carriers in the United States are announcing their respective pre-order information and details.
Since its launch last year, the Gear S2 has gained new features, watchfaces, and hardware variants. Beginning next month, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon will sell a 3G/4G cellular version of the Samsung Gear S2 Classic.
Update: Verizon’s HTC One M9 will also get Marshmallow on February 16.
The onslaught of carrier-locked devices getting Android 6.0 is beginning. Marshmallow made its way to the AT&T and T-Mobile variants last week and is now coming to the T-Mobile HTC One M9 and Verizon Droid Turbo 2.
T-Mobile’s Super Bowl ads last night were definitely aimed at millennials. One involved Steve Harvey and referenced Verizon’s “Colorful Balls” ad once again (as well as Harvey’s forgetful stumble on Miss Universe), and the other brought in Drake to show how ridiculous the other carriers could be on the set of “Hotline Bling”…
With Marshmallow only on 1.2% of phones, the latest and greatest version of Android has a long way to go. Luckily, the OTA update for the LG G4 on T-Mobile started rolling out yesterday.

Next Tuesday, T-Mobile will start selling the BlackBerry Priv online and in stores. The company’s first Android device is a make or break device that will determine whether they will keep making hardware in the future. Fortunately, the device has received positive reviews and all four major US carriers will be selling it in 2016.
HTC’s product management chief, Mo Versi has confirmed on Twitter that several North American carrier-locked variants of the HTC One M9 and One M8 will be getting Android Marshmallow over the coming weeks.
Beginning this coming Monday, January 18th, the Marshmallow OS update will be pushed to Sasktel, Rogers, Wind and Videotron HTC One M9 owners in Canada.

As you’d expect, following that tweet, many HTC One owners with different carrier-locked versions were keen to known an ETA for their Marshmallow update. In response to those, Mo Versi stated that the HTC One M8 on Sprint will get the new software from the middle of next week, while the T-Mobile variant is on schedule for a January 25 release.
Sadly there’s no specific news for AT&T or Verizon users, except to say that HTC needs a “few more weeks” before the update is ready for the HTC One M9 on AT&T.
The trend of carriers ending contract pricing continues today. According to an internal leaked document obtained by Android Central, Sprint smartphone subsidy options are now limited to customers who wish to add a line to an existing account or upgrade their existing phone. This move follows AT&T’s announcement that it will stop offering two-year contracts this week, as well as Verizon, who simplified its offerings last August.
Update: T-Mobile has made it official and is carrying the device starting January 26th.
In addition to arriving in more European countries, the BlackBerry PRIV will also be available through all four major carriers in the United States. BlackBerry CEO John Chen confirmed the news at CES today, but did not offer a timeline for when they’d be released.
