This morning, Oppo has officially taken the wraps off its latest flagship phone. The R7s boasts a host of flagship specs but, being Oppo, will likely cost less than the price of the traditional flagship phones when it launches across the globe over the coming months…
The Oppo R7 Plus, a 6-inch version of the R7, has finally opened for U.S. and European pre-orders, the Chinese manufacturer promising to ship by the end of the month. The device was first announced back in May.
$499 gets you a Snapdragon 615 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage (with a microSD card slot to expand it), a 13MP main camera, 8MP front camera, fingerprint sensor, dual SIM card slots – and a 1080p display that’s virtually edge-to-edge. In Europe, the R7 Plus is priced at €449.
At long last, action is being taken against bloatware on Android devices. Samsung and Oppo are facing lawsuits over their use of pre-installed apps. Both companies are being sued by the Shanghai Consumer Rights Protection Commission, as revealed in a report by the Shanghai Daily. In a study of 20 phones, multiple devices were found to have apps which were not only pre-installed but also unremovable.
Chinese manufacturer Oppo has announced two new mid-market smartphones, the R7 and R7 Plus – going on sale in China tomorrow, with the international rollout expected next month, reports GSM Arena.

Many Android smartphone manufacturers have already entered the Android Wear race, with the latest entry—the aptly-named Huawei Watch—coming from Chinese company Huawei at Mobile World Congress last week. Today, it looks like the first evidence of an Android Wear device coming from another Chinese OEM, Oppo, have surfaced on the web via a couple of different sketchy Chinese sources.
The above smartwatch, sporting a fairly traditional design, might just be Oppo’s upcoming entrant…

Chinese handset maker Oppo on Wednesday officially launched its R1C smartphone in China for ¥2499 (around $400). The handset has an ultra-thin 6.85mm design backed by sapphire glass, making it one of the thinnest smartphones with 4X optical zoom ever. The R1C will be available for purchase through the Oppo website beginning January 20 at 10:00 AM local time in China.
Oppo’s hardware specifications include a 5-inch 720p display, Qualcomm 1.5GHz Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage with up to 128GB of expandable storage, 2,420 mAh battery, 4G LTE connectivity with dual SIM card slots, and 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with Sony’s Exmor RS IMX214 sensor. The device runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.
The Oppo R1C joins the company’s existing devices, including the N1, N3, R5, Find 5 and Find 7.

Oppo’s N3 has been teased for quite some time now, but for some reason the company is putting a lot of emphasis on the device’s camera. Most recently, the company took to Facebook to tease a strange rotating mechanism that will apparently be a “true head turner.” I would agree with that. But today, the company has taken to Twitter to show off an image of said rotating camera, expanding it to show all of its internals. The camera, as was revealed previously on Oppo’s Weibo account, will sport a 16 megapixel 1/2.3-inch sensor.

When Oppo’s Find 7 was first announced, it was one of the front runners in its category. A smartphone with a 5.5-inch QHD display and the latest specs under the hood. OnePlus has officially unveiled its first flagship device. The OnePlus One carries flagship specifications, but you won’t have to break the bank to get it. The device will be available starting at $299 for the Silk White 16GB model, and $349 for the Sandstone Black 64GB model.
The OnePlus One packs a 5.5-inch LTPS IPS with TOL 1080p display, 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 3,100mAh battery, a 5MP front-facing camera, and a 13MP rear camera. The device has a magnesium frame, giving the device a total weight of 162 grams. OnePlus claims this is the “lightest 5.5-inch phone in the world.”
Oppo’s latest flagship smartphones are packing some serious specifications. Internally, the Find 7/Find 7a are not much different than Samsung’s Galaxy S5 or the HTC One (M8), but Oppo has made an effort to beat the pricing of both devices. YouTube creator Danny Winget has put together a camera test demonstrating the exceptional UHD video recording capabilities of the Find 7/Find 7a’s camera. The results look incredible and it’s actually hard to believe that this footage came straight from a smartphone.
