OnePlus 3

We’ve heard a lot surrounding the OnePlus 3 in the past week and while most of it is good, there are some negative points. This of course is the case with any smartphone, but with the OnePlus 3 and the company’s previous efforts, these downsides — compromises, if you will — are seen by many as less like flaws and more just ways for OnePlus to cut corners and achieve its super affordable price points.
Now, it looks like OnePlus’ CEO Carl Pei is tired of hearing about it and has taken to Reddit to express his feelings on the matter…
Even with its 6GB of RAM, a YouTube comparison revealed last week that the OnePlus 3 still had a bit of trouble with multitasking. When compared with the Galaxy S7 Edge, the OnePlus 3 took marginally longer to store and reload apps from memory despite its supposed advantage on paper. Later the same week, the talents over at XDA developed a potential fix for this issue and now the same YouTuber who started this is back with the fix applied to show us how it improves things.

After a comparison video earlier this week showed us that the OnePlus 3’s 6GB of RAM might not give it the insane multitasking capabilities we all hoped, OnePlus CEO Carl Pei has responded with a few clarifications surrounding RAM management on the OnePlus 3.
Over the past couple years our smartphones have turned into powerhouses we never would have imagined even a few years ago, but things took a step even further earlier this week with the announcement of the OnePlus 3. With 6GB of RAM under the hood you’d expect this phone to be an exception in a world of laggy Android phones with subpar performance, but that doesn’t seem to be the case just yet…
Our own Edoardo Maggio is in London today, attempting to get his hands on the newly-announced OnePlus 3. But surprisingly for him, and us aswell, the line to get a chance to touch the phone — and a limited number of people, buy it — is just ridiculously long. iPhone long…
OnePlus has had an interesting history to say the least. Yesterday the company launched its fourth smartphone, the OnePlus 3, and it’s actually really impressive. It packs powerful specs, great hardware, and an incredibly low price tag. The company still has some serious work to do, however.
Amidst the myriad of (relatively) new Chinese smartphone manufacturers, OnePlus certainly has made itself distinctive. Be it for past questionable marketing campaigns, now-fortunately-gone, infamous invite systems or, all in all, good products, the company can claim to have a special flair to it.
However, to keep that “uniqueness trend” going, the company is seemingly ditching any further plans that saw it working on sequels to its mid-range OnePlus X …
Today we’re taking a look at the recently announced OnePlus 3. I’ve only had this phone for a couple of days, so don’t expect a full review just yet. But instead, our initial impressions with more to come…
Update: After a time of VR store exclusivity (why is that a thing?), the OnePlus 3 is now available for purchase from OnePlus.net.
The launch of the OnePlus One was pretty much the worst thing ever (thanks to the company’s loathed invite system), and the OnePlus Two launch was not much better. Now, after many leaks over the last several months, OnePlus has made its next flagship official in its The Loop VR app. The best part? You don’t need an invitation to purchase one.
We are just a day away from the OnePlus 3‘s official announcement, but of course leaks simply won’t stop coming. Thanks, once again, to Steve Hemmerstoffer — better known in the tech world with his @OnLeaks pseudonym — we can now see what seems to be a final unit of the device in the wild…
The OnePlus 3‘s official announcement is just around the corner. Less than a week from now, the Chinese company will fully unveil its new flagship device, but leaks seem keep pouring out in the meantime.
A Weibo post lets us take an even closer look at the device…
The OnePlus 3 is right around the corner. On June 14 (one day after in China), the company will officially unveil its latest flagship phone, but among the few ways set up to get your hands on a early copy of the device, there seems to be one more now added to the list…
OnePlus is set to announce the OnePlus 3 next week, and ahead of the launch we already know a lot about the device. As for its key specs, the phone will reportedly have a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 820, and up to 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM. And as for the camera situation, the OnePlus 3 will pack a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera.
It’s looking pretty good, and now the company’s CEO has shared the first shots from the upcoming device (Weibo via Phandroid).
We’ve seen dozens of smartwatches hit the market over the past couple years, but none of them have yet to be a real runaway hit. Just about every major OEM has one on the market, so with all of those options out there, it’s tough for smaller companies to get their chance in the game — or at least, that’s what OnePlus thinks.
According to OnePlus CEO Pete Lau, the company not only was considering a smartwatch, they also had a completed design. But as we know, they decided not to release it (via WSJ).
We’re only a couple short weeks away from the official announcement of the OnePlus 3, but that hasn’t stopped an early listing on Oppomart from showing us everything we need to know about the device.
Where most of Samsung’s craziness comes from its technologies — be it prototypes, advertising or actual devices — OnePlus is mostly renowned for its controversy. Things such as “Smash The Past” as well as the (now fortunately gone) invite system made their way to the headlines more than once, and the company may be on the verge of repeating itself again…
We reported earlier this morning that the OnePlus 3 was being officially launched June 15 in China, but with no official word on an international launch yet.
However, the company’s co-founder Carl Pei officially disclosed the date, confirming the rumor that claimed it to be June 14, but also adding an extra bit of news…
There’s very little we don’t know about the OnePlus 3. The Chinese company’s flagship’s marketing campaign has been boiling up for some time now, and between that and an array of leaked specs it’s only the official launch date we didn’t know.
According to a post submitted by OnePlus on Weibo, it looks like the wait won’t be long, with a June 15 date slated for its final unveiling…
OnePlus is indeed a company that likes to stick out and do things a little differently. This can cause controversy at times, but either way the firm has done a good job — especially among the myriad of relatively new Chinese OEMs — letting its name be known.
Today, the company has announced that the upcoming OnePlus 3 flagship will be part of an exclusive “Peer Review” program, to which everyone is invited…
In this week’s top stories: The latest OnePlus 3 news comes alongside our first look at an upcoming Batman-themed Galaxy S7 Edge from Samsung. A handful of Google apps received notable updates this week, as did a US field test for the much anticipated Pokémon GO mobile game arriving this summer. And Google exec Eric Schmidt makes some noise with comments about Galaxy S7 being better than iPhone in our latest Talking Schmidt. Head below for the usual handy links to these top stories and more.
With the OnePlus 3 rumored to be making its first public appearance on June 14th, it’s about the right time for the next “flagship killer” to appear in a listing on China’s TENAA site. Similar to the FCC in the US, all phones launching in China tend to land on TENAA a few weeks before they launch. OnePlus is no exception, and was spotted by Engadget China, with pictures from every angle and a list of specifications.
OnePlus announced in a community forum post this morning that it will sell all of its current phones at ‘new prices’. That means the OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X will all be cheaper than they have been, almost certainly because a new phone is about to be launched by the ambitious Chinese startup.
June is shaping up to be a pretty busy month in the tech world, as it usually is. Google I/O has now passed us, and we can now look forward to what’s next. For Apple fans, that’s WWDC next month. For those who prefer Android we have both Lenovo’s Tech World event and the Moto Z launch, as well as a OnePlus unveiling.
The OnePlus event is set to be the first to take place in a VR world set in space, and will allegedly be happening on June 14th, if a conversation between a customer and a OnePlus CS rep is anything to go by…
