Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain has been in full gear all week, and that means almost all of the biggest Android OEMs are getting together to show off their latest phones, tablets, and other gadgets. Now that things are winding down here in the last couple days of the show floor being open, let’s take a look at all the devices that were announced by Samsung, LG, Sony, Huawei and others…

Lenovo is expected to unveil the Moto G5 tomorrow at its MWC presentation, but some images of the phone and its retail packaging have leaked (via OLX) ahead of time. The Moto G5 looks to follow roughly the same design language originally introduced with the Moto Z, and finally introduces a fingerprint sensor to the G series.

Modular smartphones haven’t taken off for a number of reasons, but one of the big ones is the fear that a year after purchasing your phone and bunch of mods, they’ll all become irrelevant with new hardware. Well, Motorola/Lenovo have just put those concerns to rest for Moto Mod owners.

Barcelona’s famous fair, the Mobile World Congress, is just around the corner. As always, (almost) all the big names in mobile will join the party to show the latest and greatest coming out of their R&D. And while Samsung’s absence may represent a hit for the general vibe of the coming days, there will certainly be no shortage of new products and announcements.
So let’s dig through them a bit…

We are less than a month out from MWC 2017 and it would appear that Motorola is getting excited about the products they plan to show off. So excited, in fact, that the company has made its entire website in Germany into a countdown for the show. Oh, and the golden octopus? Your guess is as good as ours…

Going into 2017, not much is known about Lenovo’s upcoming Moto lineup. The company reportedly opted out of making a new Moto 360 for Android Wear 2.0‘s launch, while their flagship device has yet to leak. However, Moto is planning (via CNET) an event on February 26th at MWC.

With the introduction of its Moto Z line of phones, Motorola (or, rather, Lenovo) seemed to have put the X line aside, making its destiny a little unclear. However, a collaboration between Android Authority and the evergreen Steve Hemmerstoffer (better known as @OnLeaks) is shedding some light on it…

When it comes to monitoring your battery life on Moto Z devices, it can be hard to estimate how much power is left just based on the battery icon. Thankfully, there is an option in the settings menu that allows you to enable the battery percentage which makes it much easier to glance at your status bar and see how much battery you have left…

Most modern Android devices now have the ability to setup a voice prompt that lets you operate your device without even picking it up. Motorola has had its own feature called Moto Voice for the last couple of years that allows for more than the standard “Ok, Google” command. The below steps will help you say “Hello, Moto” to your Moto Z device…

As with any mobile device, it is always important to know how to capture information on your screen. One of the unique aspects of the Moto Z line of phones is that the overall design is exactly the same, which means the process is also exactly the same across the board. Thankfully, Lenovo also didn’t change the screenshot process that can be found baked into almost every Android device…

Earlier this month we saw some images come out of techdroider.com purporting to show a forthcoming 2017 Moto phone. We were hesitant to share those because they were the first we had seen of a 2017 Moto phone. Now it appears that they are at least likely to be an early prototype of some kind of phone that Moto is releasing next year. Another pair of images of the new phone have now cropped up via an anonymous tipster for the same site…

About two months ago, Motorola confirmed it would be rolling out the latest version of Android, 7.0 Nougat, to the Moto Z family by the end of the year. Ahead of any announcement, it appears that update is rolling out to some users of the DROID edition Moto Z smartphones…

If you’re looking for a phone that’s compatible with Moto Mods on the cheap, this might be the one for you. Techno.trading.house (98% positive feedback from 17319 ratings) via eBay offers a brand new Moto Z Play in 32GB capacity for $370 shipped, which is $80 off its retail price of $450. The phone only first became available last month.

There is a reason why many analysts and pundits are skeptical of big acquisitions, and one of the main reasons is that big companies merged into one entity rarely do so organically.
One example could be Lenovo‘s acquisition of Motorola in 2014, the result of which has ostensibly influenced the reshuffling now taking place at the company…

We’ve seen leaks regarding the Moto M for a few months and last night Lenovo made the phone official in the Chinese market. As expected, this is a mid-range smartphone with a premium all-metal design and mid-range specifications.

Motorola’s big feature with the Moto Z family is Moto Mods — easy to use “modular” attachments for the phone that add extra capabilities such as better speakers, extra battery life, enhanced camera capabilities, and more. However, that’s not all Moto had in mind…

After being announced at IFA 2016 ─ and following a brief period of exclusivity at Verizon ─ the Moto Z Play is now available unlocked for $449…

In the midst of Google’s big hardware day, Motorola decided to drop a list of phones that it would be updating to Android 7.0 Nougat. Motorola hasn’t been great regarding updates since falling under Lenovo, but it’s great to see the company continuing to support devices, even though it has dropped a few with this latest list…

After yet another slew of heavy layoffs, the Motorola we have always known may very well be considered dead. However, its parent company Lenovo is trying to do its best not to make us think so, this time playing the nostalgia card…

Since Lenovo bought Motorola from Google in 2014, the company has made some major changes within the smartphone manufacturer — the least of which being rebranding the company’s phones as “Moto” devices. Lenovo has also let go of a lot of employees go since its acquisition including one round of layoffs that is happening as we speak…

Since releasing last month, ROMs based on Android Nougat have been popping up for various devices over on XDA. We’ve already seen tons of options for devices such as the Nexus 4, OnePlus One, OnePlus 3, and much more. Now the talented folks over at XDA have developed early Nougat-based ROMs for two different generations of Motorola’s best-selling Moto G.

One of the disappointments with Motorola’s recent lineup of devices has been the location and look of the fingerprint sensor. After receiving praise for the “dimple” on the rear of its phones for years (with many reviewers outright saying that it was ideal for a fingerprint sensor), Motorola — or perhaps more accurately, Lenovo — decided to slap fingerprint sensors on the front of the Moto Z and Moto G4.
Now, it seems that the company is testing out a rear sensor with the alleged upcoming Moto M…

The “always-on display” was a trend for 2016, appearing on flagships from Samsung and LG alike. Whenever this feature was referred to however, it was always compared with the same thing, Motorola’s ambient display. The comparison was pretty obvious, and now Motorola is flat-out accusing Samsung of stealing the feature.
