Review: Moto E4 nails the basics for customers on a tight budget [Video]

Motorola has had a tight grip on the budget phone space for years. The original Moto G launched a trend of affordable smartphones that still offered solid features and performance, and that eventually expanded to the Moto E series.

The Moto E4 is the company’s latest affordable smartphone, coming in at less than half the cost of the Moto G5 Plus. Past versions of the Moto E have too closely trodden the line between cost and performance, but this time Motorola might have gotten it just right.

‘Motorola is back’ with the Moto Z2/Force on June 27th, dual-cameras seemingly confirmed

Editor’s note: It appears this press invite was a complete fabrication on the part of the DroidHolic blog. June 27th, 2017 came and went without any word of new products from Motorola. We regret the error.

Motorola’s smartphone announcements thus far in 2017 have been a bit disappointing. The company has announced four ultra-low-cost devices and the scaled back Moto Z2 Play, but nothing has really caught our attention. Now, though, things are looking to ramp up as the company prepares for an event on June 27th.

Moto Z2 Play goes official with smaller battery and Snapdragon 626, coming this summer for $499

Motorola’s collection of Moto Z phones last year weren’t the most popular, but one stood out as a clear winner — the Moto Z Play. With stunning battery life and excellent performance, it was a solid phone by every definition. Today, Motorola is taking the wraps off of its successor, the Moto Z2 Play.

Motorola teases upcoming phone launch set for tomorrow

Yesterday afternoon, Motorola Canada took to Twitter to tease its “next bold phone,” set for a June 1st announcement. We’re not sure what exactly this new phone could be, which I actually love — I’ve grown tired of every new phone being leaked in full days, weeks, or even months before their announcement. But a few possibilities stand out.

Leaks reveal upcoming Moto G5S with an all metal build and G5S Plus with dual cameras

At MWC earlier this year, Lenovo unveiled the Moto G5 and G5 Plus. These were the successors to last year’s budget G4 and G4 Plus. Although the overall design did change and looks more premium than last year’s models, the G5 lineup is still in the budget realm. Thankfully, if you like the G5’s aesthetic, renders of the more powerful Moto G5S and G5S Plus have leaked which show off the handset’s metal build and the Plus’s dual-camera setup…

Moto X 2017 leak shows off dual-cameras, reveals massive 3800 mAh battery w/ Snapdragon 660

Motorola/Lenovo made an interesting move in 2016 by dropping the Moto X brand for the Moto Z, but as we’ve heard a few times now, there seems to be plans to bring back the X for 2017. Information on this new phone has been light, but today we’re getting new details and confirmation on some previous specs as well.

Moto Z2 Play reported to effectively ditch the best part of the Moto Z Play, its battery life

Battery life is something we simply never have enough of. Motorola, though, seemed to solve that problem last year with the Moto Z Play, which could easily get through multiple days on a single charge, thanks to a huge internal power pack. However, it’s looking like the Moto Z2 Play is unfortunately going to ditch the generous battery capacity…

No, Motorola is probably not switching to the ZUI skin for upcoming devices (in the US, at least)

Some of the best aspects of almost any Motorola device over the past few years have been fast updates and clean software. While the former of those is long gone, clean software is still very much present. Now, a sketchy report making its way through the Android blogosphere misleadingly suggests that Moto is ditching that for a heavy-handed custom software layer over Android.

That concern, which seems to be spreading quickly, is pretty much unfounded…

Here’s our first look at the upcoming Moto Z2 Play

Last August, Lenovo unveiled the Moto Z line of smartphones which feature the company’s take on modularity. Although it hasn’t quite been a year since the phones were announced, leaks and rumors of the Moto Z2 Play are starting to make the rounds. Today, Technobuffalo got its hands on a photo of the successor to last year’s Moto Z Play…

Comment: The Keyboard Mod will be the accessory that makes me go back to the Moto Z

Site default logo image

I know I am in a minority with this opinion, but I really do miss physical keyboards on phones. So much so that I cannot wait for the BlackBerry KeyOne to come out just so I can have a handset that doesn’t rely on an on-screen keyboard. That’s why when an Indiegogo campaign making a keyboard for the Moto Z posted pictures of its prototype, I got so excited…

The Moto Z2 Force likely won’t be a Verizon exclusive, may come to T-Mobile

Last year’s Moto Z was a pretty solid phone, but I don’t think anyone can deny that the Moto Z Force was better. With improved battery life, the shatterproof display, and a more comfortable build, it was just no contest. Except for one thing. The Moto Z Force was an exclusive to Verizon. The Moto Z2 Force, though, may change that.

The unlocked Moto Z Play is now being updated to Android Nougat

One of the quiet winners in the mobile space last year was the Moto Z Play. With mid-range specs, a solid premium build, compatibility with Moto Mods, and battery life that isn’t rivaled by anyone else, all for under $500, the Z Play easily became one of the best options on the market and now, it’s getting even better.
