Amazon’s Prime Exclusive program is a great way to save a few bucks on affordable Android smartphones, and the collection of devices available continues to grow. Today, Motorola’s new Moto G6 is launching on that program with a discount in tow.
In April, Motorola announced the first devices in its 2018 lineup with the Moto G6 and E5. Recent weeks have seen a number of leaks about the Moto Z3 Play and today a new report reveals that the Lenovo-owned company is possibly planning an entirely new device and lineup.
At the beginning of the week, an internal document leaked and provided us with some essential details about the forthcoming Moto Z3 Play. Now, screenshots from what looks like a promotional video have surfaced that show off the handset in-hand alongside a new Moto Mod that will allow the phone to connect to 5G.
Motorola’s G lineup of smartphones has always included some of the best options as far as affordable devices go, and the company’s Moto G6 family looks like no exception. Today, Verizon Wireless is opening up sales of the Moto G6 on its network.
Up until this point, the only thing we’ve heard about the Moto Z3 Play comes from a leaked render of the handset that shows the removal of the front-facing fingerprint sensor. Now, an internal document has leaked that appears to show the Z3 Play’s specs, software features, and information on several Moto Mod bundles that’ll be sold with the device.
Yesterday, Motorola debuted its latest Android smartphones, and its most important for the year, in the Moto G6 family. Alongside those devices, we also got the Moto E5 family. Both options are solid buys on paper, but there’s more to a phone than the software it launches with and the specs it carries. Apparently, Motorola has some pretty low standards for updates with these devices.
Motorola used to be great. And no, I’m not talking about the company’s Motorola RAZR heyday — I’m talking about a much more recent period of greatness. Earlier this decade, under the blessing and curse that was Google ownership, Motorola set out to redefine the Android phone. With its Moto E, Moto G, and Moto X, the company presented a clear vision for products that would meet customers’ needs and, better yet, brought thoughtful design decisions that captivated many, including me…
Motorola took the wraps off of the Moto G family this morning which consists of the Moto G6 Play, G6, and G6 Plus. While all three feature an 18:9 display, all three offer various levels of budget specs at very affordable prices.

After being throughly leaked, Motorola is kicking off its 2018 lineup with the Moto G6 and Moto E5 family. These low to mid-range devices running Android 8.0 Oreo reveal the company’s design language — including 18:9 displays and curved bodies — for the year ahead.
Last month, we saw several renders leak of the upcoming Moto G6 and G6 Play. These showed Motorola’s budget line of smartphones with a design similar to last year’s Moto X4. Thanks to a teaser video first shared and then pulled by the company’s UK Twitter account, this design change has seemingly been confirmed.
While Moto Mods haven’t proved as popular as many hoped, the technology does have some handy uses. One of the more popular mods has been JBL’s SoundBoost mod, and now Motorola has its own, more affordable version…
Recent weeks have seen numerous leaks about Motorola’s 2018 phone lineup, with the Lenovo-owned company also appointing a new leader in March. Ahead of this month’s product announcements, the company has revamped the design of its camera app with an update rolling out to older devices.
Motorola might have shot themselves in the foot a couple of years ago by promising to make all Moto Mods forward compatible. That restriction makes it really difficult to make a device that actually looks different, and with our first look at the coming Moto Z3 Play, that’s exactly what we’re seeing…
Motorola’s lineup of Android smartphones has become fairly bloated over the years, but for 2018, the company has been pretty quiet. MWC came and went without any new phones, but it’s looking like Moto has the latest generation of its iconic “G” series on the way…
Earlier this month, Motorola confirmed layoffs at its Chicago offices, though it disputed how much of the workforce was impacted. Today, Lenovo announced that it has appointed a new a co-president for the Mobile Business Group and to lead Motorola.
Following our report yesterday that Motorola is laying off a significant portion of its engineering staff in Chicago, Android Police is now out with some details on what exactly this will mean. Apparently, the company is planning to cancel the Moto X5 entirely, and plans to significantly scale back its efforts to partner with third-party Moto Mod makers…
Rumors of significant layoffs at Motorola Mobility in Chicago have begun to swirl this week, with one supposed ex-employee saying that the company has told as much as half of its Chicago workforce that their last day of work will be April 6th. Meanwhile, the maker of a popular Moto Mod for the Moto Z line is also seemingly fearful of the future…
Motorola has remained relatively committed to modularity in recent years with the Moto Z3 rumored to again support Moto Mods, while a full-sized sliding keyboard complete with backlit keys was just announced at CES 2018. Following a flip case earlier this month, the Lenovo company is releasing new Moto Style Shells.
At CES 2018, Lenovo-owned Motorola is renewing its commitment to Moto Mods with two new accessories for the Moto Z lineup. The first is made by its parent company and meant for health sensing, while the latter is a full-sized sliding keyboard.
Last week, Apple confirmed that it degrades CPU performance on older smartphones as batteries age. The iPhone maker was heavily criticized for not being more transparent about the decision and now its competitors claim that they do not follow similar practices on Android devices.
I like docks. My adoration dates back to Exhibition Mode in webOS and to a lesser degree the original Daydream screen savers on Android. Both have faded, but live on as ambient/always-on display features in modern flagships. Of those, my favorite is easily the Moto Display found on the Moto Z line of devices. Now, that feature has a hardware dock to pair that also acts as an Alexa speaker.
Motorola’s Moto Mods are very cool, but what’s really impressive is the potential. In theory, you could do basically anything with a Moto Mod, and now Polaroid is expanding what the platform is capable of, with a printer.
Back in 2011, Motorola was one of the biggest names in tablets thanks to the debut of the Motorola Xoom. After that, the company produced a couple more tablets, but it’s been years at this point since Motorola released a tablet. Today, the brand is making a return with the new Moto Tab.
Back in 2014, the original Moto X quickly became my favorite phone on the market for its uniquely customizable design and clean, yet intuitive software. The Moto Maker service allowed buyers to choose the phone’s colors (and build materials on later models), add a printed signature to the back, and even include a message on the bootscreen.
The new Moto X4 does none of that, and while ditching Moto Maker is definitely a bummer for longtime fans like myself, that doesn’t stop the X4 from being one of the best values around.
