When Android Wear was first announced, I was very impressed. Aside from Google Glass, Android Wear and its associated devices is Google’s first major step into the wearables market for consumers. Let’s be honest, Glass came around a bit too early and it’s definitely not ready for mass consumption.
LG, Samsung, and Motorola jumped on the Android Wear train and so far, we’ve seen a couple of different smartwatches hit the market. The G Watch and Gear Live are our first Android Wear devices and I’ve been getting to know them over the past few weeks. This my experience…
After weeks of leaks and tips, the LG G Vista has officially landed on Verizon. Priced at $100 on a two year service agreement, this handset is a case of a big screen and not so big hardware. Verizon will launch the LG G Vista on July 31st for $99 on a two year service agreement, according to Droid-Life. We first got a look at this unannounced handset earlier this month and although it features a design style similar to LG’s flagship G3, the G Vista’s specs are definitely cut from a different cloth. This budget-friendly smartphone reportedly features a 5.7-inch 720p display, a Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, a 3,200mAh battery, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera and an 8-megapixel rear-facing shooter.
Today, LG announced the Tab Book 11, an 11.6-inch keyboard toting tablet/notebook hybrid device that utilizes Intel’s Haswell Core i5 processor. Fitted with hardware suited for a laptop, the South Korean electronics manufacturer’s new gadget packs a hearty 4GB of RAM, a 128GB SSD, HDMI-in USB 3.0 (two ports) and a microSD card reader.

A few short weeks ago, LG announced launch plans for its budget-conscious G Pad 10.1, however despite its big reveal, the company didn’t discuss pricing details for its new slate. Still making good on its promise to release its new full-size tablet during this month, the LG G Pad 10.1 is now available at Best Buy for $250.
LG has announced a new mid-tier smartphone dubbed the G3 Beat, which features a 5.0-inch display, a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 CPU, 8 GB of bulit-in storage, an 8 MP rear camera with laser auto-focus, and a 1.3 MP front-facing camera.
The phone runs Android 4.4.2 and is compatible with the standard 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and LTE connections commonly found in mid-range devices. Of course, LG’s Smart Keyboard is also present, along with other LG staples like QuickMemo+ and Gesture Shot.
Black, silver, and gold versions of G3 Beat will go on sale in the South Korean market on July 18th, followed by a rollout in the Commonwealth of Independent States and Europe. There’s no word yet on when this specific model will reach North America, though according to My LG Phones, a device by the same name was just approved by the U.S. FCC.
America’s four major wireless carriers are all accepting pre-orders for LG’s G3, however some lucky T-Mobile customers are reportedly receiving their new smartphone early. The magenta-hued network is scheduled to start selling the device to the public on July 16th, so receiving the device almost a week early is pretty sweet.
Orders for LG’s G Watch recently started shipping and while you might be busy playing with your new Android Wear-powered timepiece, the company is making moves to release its next wearable. The South Korean electronics manufacturer recently announced the KizON, a smart wristband designed to help parents keep tabs on their kids.
It’s no surprise that Samsung’s IP67 certified Galaxy S5 can survive an extended stay underwater, but what about the LG G3? Well, on paper the G3 isn’t built to withstand any amount of water torture, but a surprising new video seems to prove otherwise…
Android Wear devices are finally here and the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live are the first two available, arriving just before the Moto 360’s release later this summer. These two Android Wear smartwatches pave the way for similar devices in the future and set somewhat of a standard that can be improved upon.
Today we’re taking a closer look at both smartwatches, but if you’d like to see a comparison between the two, be sure to check out our previous article here or our initial Android Wear review. Meanwhile, let’s pop open these boxes and go hands-on with the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live. Check out our video overview below.

Today, LG announced the launch of the G Pad 10.1, the company’s largest tablet in its product line. As suggested by its name, this working class slate features a 10.1-inch 1,280 x 800 WXGA display, a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, 1GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1-megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies and video calls. The two major selling points of LG’s new tablet are its beefy 8,000mAh battery and the fact that it ships with Android 4.4.2 KitKat, so it’s almost up to date in terms of software.
AT&T announced today that it will begin accepting pre-orders for the LG G3 and G Watch tomorrow and that both devices will be available to purchase on July 11th. The South Korean electronics manufacture’s first Android Wear-powered smartwatch will cost $230, while the G3 will be available for no money down through AT&T Next 18 for $24.17 per month and $29 per month via Next 12. You can also buy the handset for $200 on a two year service agreement if you’re not fond of financing a phone.
Sprint announced in a press release this afternoon that it will start selling the LG G3 flagship on July 18th. Pre-orders for the device will go live next Friday, July 11th. Verizon is launching pre-orders on July 10th with retail availability on July 19th.
Sprint’s LG G3 variant will be compatible with Sprint Easy Pay, which means you can get the device for $0 down and pay it off with $25 monthly payments for 24 months. Sprint is also offering a $150 reward card for people who purchase between July 11th and July 24th and register by August 7th.

Android Wear doesn’t just show you notifications. In at least one developer session at I/O, Google made it clear that its new smartwatch platform will actually be capable of running standalone applications, even further extending the possibilities of what the device will be able to do in the near future. But now, some of these apps are already hitting the Play Store.
Recently at Google I/O 2014, LG and Samsung launched their new Android Wear smartwatches. The LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live are available now on the Google Play Store, but which one should you buy? Both devices have differences and similarities and today we’re taking a quick look at all of them. Check out our comparison video below for a closer look…
On stage at its Google I/O developer conference, the company talked wearables, as we expected it to. Google says that Android users check their phones “an average of 125 times a day,” so the company hopes that Android Wear paired with various wearables will help cut down on this number. Demoing it on an LG G Watch, Google showed more details about the Android Wear interface. The company also announced that starting today, the full Android Wear SDK is available to developers. Most importantly, Google announced that the LG G Watch will be available on Google Play today, although a price is still yet to be determined. The company also announced that the the Samsung Gear Live will be available today, as well. The Moto 360 will be available later this summer.
During the I/O Keynote, Google announced that LG’s G Watch and newly announced Samsung Gear Live will be available today on the Play Store. These two new Android Wear-powered smartwatches are going to be an exciting advancement for wearables. The Samsung Galaxy Live will be available for $199 and LG’s G Watch will be priced at $229.
Along with that, Google announced that the Moto 360 smartwatch will be available “later this summer.” It’s unclear why Motorola wasn’t able to launch alongside the two smartwatches mentioned above. No pricing was mentioned for the Moto 360.
If you’d like to pickup an LG G Watch or Samsung Gear Live, they will be available for preorder on the Google Play Store around 4 p.m. PDT and ship July 7th, 2014.
When the LG G3 was first announced, I wasn’t exactly sure what to think about it. Sure, the G2 was nice and had a beautiful display with some quirky software features, but it wasn’t something I was ever interested in using on a daily basis. I considered it to be nothing more than a mediocre device in a big race. Don’t get me wrong, it was definitely a step up for LG, but the G2’s late release put it up against some tough competition in 2013.
Fast forward to the LG G3. Even with its recent announcement and small-scale initial launch, the G3 has captured the attention of many. It’s nothing short of a 2014-standard as far as flagship specifications go, but will the LG G3 be the best smartphone this year? That remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, this is the best smartphone that LG has created thus far….
According to an interview done by LG’s director of communications Ken Hong with a Dutch news outlet (via Phone Arena), the company currently has no plans on making the next Nexus device. LG, of course, made both the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 devices, but Hong says that the company is not making the next Nexus device, “at least not yet.”
The LG G Watch — as well as Android Wear as a platform — is nearing launch, and amidst a rumor that the device will be given away at Google’s annual I/O developer conference, a purported image of the full specs and a photo of the devices’ back panel have now leaked.

LG’s G3 is the big shot smartphone on the block and packs high-end specifications much like its competition, but with one big wow factor. The 5.5-inch display found on the G3 has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 giving it a screen density of 538 PPI, and trust us, that’s as beautiful as it sounds. Every inch of the display is crisp and almost looks as if all of the imagery was printed on a thin piece of glass.
This may be the device to buy in 2014, but we’ll let you know in our full review. Find out more about its beautiful QHD display, specifications, and everything else the G3 has to offer in our hands-on and first impressions video below.
Yesterday we mentioned the boot logo for the LG G Watch that had leaked to the Internet, and with it came what might be the next official Android logo. This information surfaced from an LG G Watch system dump leaked on Twitter last night, and a quick dig through it reveals some more interesting tidbits of information about the device…
