LG

Smartwatches tend to range from incredibly basic, offering not much more than just notifications, to supercomputers that have everything built-in while also making the watch big and bulky. Ultimately, the smartwatch that most customers want is one that lands somewhere in between these two categories. The LG Watch Style is an Android Wear 2.0 device that resides more on the basic side of the spectrum but at least it does the basics extremely well…
With MWC right around the corner, one of the releases we’re really getting excited about is the LG G6. With waterproofing, Google Assistant, and a new UI in tow, it seems like LG is going to hit a home run. Our sole concern so far has been the size of the phone, with LG confirming a 5.7-inch display on the device. With new leaks, though, those concerns have been put to rest.
Barcelona’s famous fair, the Mobile World Congress, is just around the corner. As always, (almost) all the big names in mobile will join the party to show the latest and greatest coming out of their R&D. And while Samsung’s absence may represent a hit for the general vibe of the coming days, there will certainly be no shortage of new products and announcements.
So let’s dig through them a bit…
We’re not even a week out from the debut of the LG G6, but that isn’t stopping the company from giving us a few more specifics about its next flagship. Today, the company is revealing new details about the camera sensors on both sides of the device…
We are quickly approaching Mobile World Congress, which means we are only weeks away from the official announcement of the LG G6. While LG hasn’t told us anything about the phone itself, leaked photographs of the handset have shown off a display with rounded corners. While some people think this looks good and differentiates the G6, others aren’t too fond of it…
There’s a lot to be excited about with the upcoming LG G6 with slim bezels, a new and improved audio DAC, and features like water resistance and Google Assistant as well. However, it seems like there will be a bit more to the LG G6 than what appears on the surface. Now, two new teasers are hinting at improved reliability, and improved resistance.
With the launch of Android Wear 2.0, LG and Google announced the Watch Sport and the Watch Style. While both of these watches were designed to show off the newest version of the operating system, only the Watch Sport comes packing LTE connectivity, an NFC chip, a heart rate sensor, and more.
This comparison will take an in-depth look at these two new smartwatches so that you can decide if you would rather have a feature-packed smartwatch that tends to be on the bulkier side or an elegant and slim device that doesn’t do much more than the basics…
With the release of Android Wear 2.0, Google and LG announced two new smartwatches: the LG Watch Style and Watch Sport. While the Sport features LTE, NFC, GPS, and a heart rate sensor, the Style is a simplified wearable that only does the basics — but also looks more like a traditional analog watch…
One of the physical differences between the more expensive LG Watch Sport and its less expensive brother, the Watch Style, is the addition of two buttons located on either side of the rotating side button. These are designed to be used as shortcut buttons for quickly launching applications and actions on the Watch Sport…
The LG Watch Sport is one of the first smartwatches to come running Android Wear 2.0. The Sport, unlike the Watch Style, has LTE connectivity built in — meaning you can leave the house and leave your smartphone behind.
To do this, though, you will need to have an active SIM card installed to provide your watch with data…
With the launch of Android Wear 2.0, LG, in collaboration with Google, has today launched the Watch Sport and Watch Style. These new smartwatches are the first to ship with the updated operating system and were made specifically to showcase new Android Wear features. Now that they have been announced, though, the question is where and when you will be able to purchase these watches…
We are less than a month out from MWC and LG’s event where we expect them to unveil the G6. Unsurprisingly, the closer we get to the event, the more information about the phone leaks out. The latest rumor — which comes from Evan Blass — is that LG will be launching the G6 in the U.S. on April 7, a month after it releases in South Korea…
It’s not that you haven’t seen them a million times already, or that there’s really much left to wait for. Both the Samsung Galaxy S8 and, even before that, the LG G6, are well on their way, and you will see proper reviews popping up everywhere (including here, obviously) very soon.
But there are some new images of leaked cases for both which give us an even better look at them, so here they are…
We are now less than a week away from the rumored release date of Android Wear 2.0. This comes after Google delayed the official release of the wearable operating system that we got our first look at last summer at Google I/O. The official announcement was rumored to take place on February 9, but now we are hearing that Google has moved up their timeframe and will release the final build of Android Wear 2.0 and LG’s brand new smartwatches on February 8…
We’re just a few weeks away from LG’s launch of the LG G6, and as we get closer, the leaks continue to pour out. Recently we’ve seen renders showing off thin bezels, some very unfinished prototypes, and even heard details on the phone’s specs. Today, though, Business Insider has gotten its hands on a new image of the G6, showing us a near-final unit for the first time.
We’re not too far off from LG’s new Android Wear 2.0 smartwatches going official, and ahead of the announcement, we’re hearing more and more details about the pair. Now, we’re hearing more particulars about the highly-anticipated larger model of the two, the LG Watch Sport.
I don’t think I’m alone when I say that I didn’t expect LG/Google’s upcoming Android Wear 2.0 smartwatches to be all that affordable. Personally, I expected LG to follow Motorola’s example with a starting price of at least $299. However, according to Android Police, the LG Watch Style may, in fact, be priced at just $249, at least to start with.
We’ve been hearing a lot over the past few weeks about LG’s upcoming duo of Android Wear smartwatches, and tonight, the first high-res renders have leaked…
LG has announced that it lost KRW 258.80 billion ($223.98M) in Q4 of last year, its first loss in six years. The company admitted that poor sales of its modular G5 smartphone and subsequent marketing costs were a significant factor. The company restructured its mobile division last year as the company struggled to sell the handset.
Due to losses from mobile communications and vehicle components, LG reported a fourth-quarter net loss of KRW 258.80 billion (USD 223.98 million) […] Profitability was hampered by weak sales of the G5 smartphone and higher marketing investments.
One item in LG’s report was notable by its absence …
It’s 2017, so of course everything leaks. While Samsung has just announced that it won’t attend this year’s trade show in Barcelona, LG will be present at MWC on February 26, but perhaps it won’t have much to tell us when the time comes. A new leak shows us (at least partially) what its upcoming G6 is likely going to look like…
2017 indeed has what it takes to become one of the craziest years in consumer electronics; between returning old giants, sumptuous anniversaries and trust issues to resolve, the potential is everything but lacking. All of that said, one of the weirdest, most interesting trends could be flexible, foldable smartphones…
In the aftermath of last year’s Samsung Galaxy Note 7 recall, hardware manufacturers are doing everything they can to ensure that their smartphones are as safe as possible. LG is now taking extra steps to test the safety of the batteries going into the G6 as well as adding hardware to help disperse heat…
Despite the bad publicity and ensuing mass recall caused by the Note 7 exploding, Samsung is projecting a record profit in its guidance for Q4 2016 earnings. This is in stark contrast to LG Electronics which is on track to report its first quarterly operating loss in six years.
