LG

We’re about two weeks away from the official announcement of the V30, but that hasn’t stopped leaked images of the handset from emerging. The latest to surface is a press render of the device that shows off the phone from almost every angle…
Despite still being more than two weeks away from being announced, LG has already published details about the V30’s software. This includes the handset’s floating bar, new ways to unlock the device, and new features coming to the always-on display…
Many phones actually have an FM chip built into them, but for ones released in the US, this feature is often nonexistent or disabled by carriers (e.g. AT&T, Verizon). Today, however, LG announced that it is partnering with NextRadio to provide free access to local FM radio stations on future handsets throughout all of North and Latin America.
LG’s V-series has always placed a big emphasis on content creation, and we’re expecting the upcoming V30 to be no different. An earlier report hinted at the phone featuring an impressive f/1.6 aperture for its rear-camera setup, and LG has confirmed that this feature will, in fact, be coming to the phone when it debuts later this month.
A little less than a month ago, LG sent out its first batch of press invitations for the LG V30. This first invite didn’t reveal much other than a generic phone shape and a stylized “V” to hint at the V-series branding, but a new invite that LG just sent out hints more directly at one of the V30’s biggest features.
At this point, there is very little that we don’t yet know about the LG V30. Over the last couple of weeks, we have seen leaked renders of the smartphone, reports about the device’s cameras and its floating second display, and now hands-on photos of production-level hardware…
LG is scheduled to hold a press event on August 31 at IFA in Berlin, where the company’s upcoming V30 flagship is set announced. Device renders have already given us a pretty good idea for what to expect from the V30, but a leaked photo for a prototype of the phone now shows us what it might look like in person…
Last night, LG posted a press release to announce that its “next flagship,” better known as the LG V30, will be the first device ever to use a plastic OLED FullVision display. While leaked renders and outlines already gave away the fact that the V30 would feature a “bezel-less” display with rounded corners, this announcement states that the handset will also have a 6-inch screen…
Earlier this month, we got our first look at the upcoming LG V30 thanks to several leaked renders that showed off the handset from all angles. While we’ve yet to see a real-life image of the device, a leaked image from the device’s alleged owner’s manual offers a new look at its outline…
Earlier this month, LG announced the Q6 – a mid-range smartphone that’s most notable for its 18:9 bezel-less display, not unlike the G6. No exact release date was confirmed by LG when the phone was first announced, but thanks to a press release from the company, that’s no longer the case.
LG’s position in the mobile industry has been disappointing over the past few quarters to say the least. The company lost a total of $132 million in the second quarter of last year as a result of the G5’s lukewarm reception, but when rumors for the G6 first started pouring in, things looked like they were about to get better.
LG was the first company to market with a near bezel-less 18:9 smartphone, and for all intents and purposes, the G6 is one of the better handsets the company’s released in recent memory. Unfortunately, looking at LG’s earnings report for Q2 2017, it looks like it might be too little too late.
Update July 23: 4-Traders has confirmed that the LG Q8 will be available in “key European markets” in addition to just Italy, the only country previously explicitly confirmed to carry the device. The handset will be available starting this next week with Asian markets getting the phone next month. There is still no word on pricing.
The LG V20 was one of my favorites phones toward the end of 2016, but it surely wasn’t without its issues. It lacked popular features like water resistance and simply wasn’t available if you lived anywhere in Europe. Today, LG is fixing that with the debut of the LG Q8.
The LG G6 has been out for several months now which means we have had time to test out all of the best cases currently available for the smartphone. So if you’re looking to pick up the LG G6 or already have, here’s a rundown of the best cases to go along with your new handset…
One of T-Mobile’s biggest weaknesses over the years has been its performance inside buildings. The “un-carrier” is looking to change that, though, with the addition of 600MHz spectrum that it has been talking about for a while. Recently, T-Mobile’s CTO confirmed that two major Android OEMs will offer support for that spectrum in upcoming devices.
Yesterday a video render leaked of the upcoming V30 that gave us a good look at what to expect from LG later this summer. Today, we have received an invitation to an LG-hosted event taking place on August 31st during IFA, presumingly for the V30’s official announcement…
Rumors regarding LG’s upcoming V30 smartphone have been a bit mixed. On one hand, we could be getting a unique dual-screen slider, but on the other, we could be getting something much more like the LG G6. According to the latest leaks, it’s looking more like the latter.
As teased yesterday, LG has officially announced the Q6, a line that brings the G6’s marquee “FullVision” display into the mid-range. However, that designation brings notable downsides, including a plastic rear, no fingerprint sensor, and a Snapdragon 435 processor.
A new report out of Korean media today says that LG is planning to introduce its latest-generation flagship V30 at IFA in Berlin. If the report turns out to be true, this will mark the first time that a V-series flagship from the Korean company is introduced at the IFA expo…
Most consumer electronics, including smartphones, come with a limited one-year warranty. LG is stepping it up a notch today by announcing something that it calls the Second Year Promise. Now, instead of your G6 only being covered for a single year, it will be covered by LG for two…
The latest Kantar market share data shows that Samsung, LG and Moto all experienced year-on-year declines in U.S. sales. The firm noted that neither Samsung’s S8 or LG’s G6 made the list of top-10 selling phones in the three-month period ending in April.
News for Samsung was particularly disappointing …
Although we are still several months out from an official announcement, yesterday we got news that “muskie,” believed to be the Pixel XL 2, was being shelved. Then we found information that suggests that “taimen,” a larger smartphone being developed, is being manufactured by LG. Would you purchase the second generation Pixel XL if it were being made by LG?
A report earlier today suggested that Google shelved “muskie” — the presumed Pixel XL successor — in favor of a another rumored device codenamed “taimen.” After digging into the Android Issue Tracker, we now have reason to believe that LG might be the manufacturer of this larger phone.
Knowing how to capture a screenshot is something that all LG G6 owners should know how to do. While LG allows users to capture a screenshot using Android’s default method using the physical power and volume buttons, there is also a way to take one using the G6’s Capture+ software which can be easier to use for some.
Not every smartphone is designed to take a beating, and less expensive phones often leave durability as the least important part of the device. Now, LG is bringing us a rugged Android smartphone which, on paper, seems like a pretty good value — the LG X Venture.
