Google Pixel 3

Nearly a month after the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL went on sale, last year’s phone is now out of stock at both the Google Store and Fi. The Pixel 3 is no longer available to purchase in the United States, Canada, and other countries.
If you’ll recall a few years back, owners of the Nexus 6P were reporting issues of their phones shutting down well before the system reported a dead battery. Now, some Pixel 3 owners are reporting similar early shutdown issues on their devices when on low battery.
Google has quietly rolled out a new option for Pixel devices which allows the ringer to vibrate first and then gradually start to ring at your set volume. Now, that feature appears to be widely rolling out to all Pixel devices.
Battery life is not a strength on basically any Pixel smartphones, meaning most users are going to have to find a place to charge at some point throughout the day. If you have a daily commute, iOttie’s new fast wireless car charger is a great, if expensive, option for Pixel owners.
While the November security patch is officially expected on Monday, some Pixel 3 XL owners this afternoon have already received the update. These devices have accidentally been included in a Googler-only internal OTA.
Over the past week, Pixel 4 phones have been arriving at retailers around the world. Despite the fact that the Pixel 4 hasn’t been met with the best early impressions from the tech community at large, there’s no doubt that the Pixel 4 is one of the best phones released in 2019. That raises the question then: how is the Pixel 4 different from the Pixel 3 and is it worth upgrading to?
It appears that several new camera features from the Pixel 4 won’t be heading to the Pixel 3 and 3a with Dual Exposure Controls and Live HDR not making the jump to the previous generation handsets.
Google’s Pixel 4 sure seems like the best in the series to date, but the company isn’t giving owners of its previous devices a break when it comes to trade-in values. Even if you have a maxed-out Google Pixel 3 XL that debuted just a year ago, the Google Store trade-in will only value your device at $295.
So we’ve seen the Pixel 4 officially break cover, with new colors, pricing, and most importantly, new features.
Since the original Pixel, Google only sold its phones unlocked or through Verizon Wireless. That changed this year with an expansion to T-Mobile, Sprint, and other carriers. However, it seems despite the low-cost Pixel 3a, sales of Google’s smartphones at Verizon make up just 5% of the carrier’s total.
I love my Pixel, and I love my AirPods — both of them are essential parts of my everyday carry. But both being wirelessly-chargeable, I needed a wireless charging solution that could handle both at the same time. I decided to check out Nomad’s Base Station as one option, and so far I’m pretty happy with it.
We are a little over two weeks away from the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL unveil at Made by Google 2019. After the latest flagship’s launch, Google often keeps last year’s phone on sale. The same thing looks to be occurring this year with Google extending the $300 Pixel 3 discount.
The last time Google discounted the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL by 50% off was in April for the carrier’s fourth birthday. With today’s launch of Google Fi Unlimited, the Pixel 3 deal is now back.
Google’s camera prowess is the reason “Pixel” is a well-known brand. Most people know after the past three generations that if you want the best camera in a smartphone, you buy a Pixel. This year, however, reviewers think that may have changed. Reviews of Apple’s iPhone 11 Pro give high praise to the cameras and claim it’s better than the Pixel 3. Is that really the case?
Netflix offers a ton of HDR movies and TV shows and as smartphone displays add support for the feature, the content provider is enabling support. The list of HDR10 devices on Netflix just grew quite a bit, and it now includes some of Google’s Pixel phones including the still-unannounced Pixel 4 series.
If you’re a Google Pixel owner on Verizon Wireless, there’s a good chance that calls have been broken or delayed since the Android 10 update. As many have noted, a weird issue with the My Verizon app is hindering calls.
Google recently gave the Android brand a new logo and much more, and with recent updates, the reach of that logo is extending. If you’ve got a Google Pixel or OnePlus device, Android 10 just delivered a new logo to the boot screen.
Expand Expanding CloseGoogle Camera 6.3 notably elevates Night Sight to the main interface but also removes manual white balance controls. According to the official release notes, this update also deprecates “Smart Burst” in favor of “Top Shot.”
While Google lacks its own stores, you can still head to a brick-and-mortar store to get an official repair for your Pixel smartphone. uBreakiFix has been working with Google as a repair partner for the past few years, and this week the company has been bought out by Asurion.
The Google Pixel 3 has what is easily still one of the best cameras available on a smartphone today, but like the phone itself, that camera is somewhat prone to strange issues. Over the past few months, quite a lot of Pixel 3 owners have been reporting a “shaking” camera issue that Google still hasn’t fixed.
The latest round of Google Store “Special offers” are live and the Pixel 3 sees a $300 discount. What’s particularly notable is how the deal runs until September 28th, which should be just a few weeks from the expected Pixel 4 unveil at Made by Google 2019.
For Fi’s 4th birthday in April, Google discounted the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL by 50% for one day only. The latest deal from Google’s MVNO is $300 off the Made by Google flagships.
Since the original Pixel, Google’s phones have been exclusive to Verizon, but as you would expect, unlocked devices typically work just fine on other carriers. Now, months after the launch of the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, users who brought their phones to AT&T are beginning to have issues staying connected to the carrier’s LTE network.
Last night, the Google Store offered some customers a $300 discount on the Pixel 3. A “glitch” prevented any recipients from redeeming, but the corrected email featuring the necessary Google promo code is now being sent out.
