An update to Google Calendar on Android is rolling out, which makes it significantly easier to scroll through months.

Google Calendar “appointment slots” have long allowed education and enterprise users to create and reserve specified time slots. Google is now removing that capability and replacing it with “appointment schedules.”

Following reminders last week, Gemini on Android can now access your Google Calendar events, as well as create new ones via voice command.

Google has updated its Calendar app on the iPhone and iPad with a trio of convenient lockscreen widgets. 

For many, Google Calendar is an essential app for keeping track of events and ongoing tasks, but the app currently makes it a little more complicated than it needs to be to create a task. Soon, though, that’s set to change in the Android app.

Older versions of Android often continue to get app and even feature updates for years to come, but eventually, things must come to an end. Soon, it seems, Google will be dropping support for its Calendar and Chrome apps on some older versions of Android.

For the past several years, Google Tasks has been restricted to a side panel in Gmail, Drive, and other Workspace sites. Google Calendar on the web is now adding a fullscreen Tasks interface.

The Nothing Phone 2 is a great smartphone with some neat but not very useful lights on the back. As Android 14 testing is underway, though, the Nothing Phone 2 is adding Google Calendar integration to its “Glyph” interface.

Back in November, we reported that Google was working on Gmail and Calendar apps for Wear OS. They’re now available, and I’m finding that triaging email from your wrist is weirdly handy. 

Following Gmail last week, Google Calendar for Wear OS is now available to download on the Play Store.

After completing the Tasks migration and introducing tablet optimizations, Google Calendar for Android is next adding Material You widgets. 

After announcing in 2021 for Workspace Individual, Google is now bringing Calendar appointment scheduling to personal accounts while Gmail is adding interactive schedule sharing inside emails.
