After announcing the device on June 3rd, Samsung’s latest fitness wearable, the Gear Fit 2, is now available for pre-order from multiple online retailers. You’ll be able to order the device in black, blue, and pink for $179.99, and it’s set to ship on June 10th.
At an event in New York this evening, Samsung announced two new wearables as part of the Gear line. The Gear Fit 2 is a successor to the model released in 2014, while the Gear IconX is Samsung’s first truly wireless earbuds. At launch, both products are only compatible with Android and not iOS.
Samsung is hosting an event later this week on June 2nd at 5PM in New York City. The invite does not provide a hint as to what will be announced, but the Gear Fit 2 and IconX wireless earbuds are more likely than the Galaxy Note 7.
According to a leak last month, Samsung is working on a successor to 2014’s Gear Fit and smart wireless earbuds with fitness tracking. Today, the Gear Fit 2 and Gear IconX (via Droid Life) were accidentally revealed in official images on one of Samsung’s websites.
With the Gear S3 rumored to have a fall release, Samsung also appears to be working on a successor to 2014’s Gear Fit, as well as a pair of smart wireless earbuds. According to VentureBeat, both the Gear Fit 2 and Gear IconX earbuds are meant to be fitness gadgets.
