Earlier this year at CES 2017, Casio launched its second rugged Android Wear device, the Pro Trek WSD-F20. Now, this smartwatch is finally available for purchase for $499.
One of the few Android Wear watches we saw back at CES 2017 was the Pro-Trek WSD-F20, a successor to Casio’s first outdoor Android Wear smartwatch. The WSD-F20 improves in several areas, but now, Casio is improving on that even further with the limited edition WSD-F20S.
Android Wear has made its way to quite a few styles of smartwatches, but few have been as, striking as those from Casio. The Casio WSD-F10 rugged smartwatch certainly turned heads at last year’s CES and for 2017, Casio has refreshed that watch with a few key additions.
With the WSD-F10 last CES, Casio started the wave of rugged smartwatches running Android Wear. This year, the company is releasing a successor (via Digital Trends, now pulled) with minor design tweaks, a new low-power GPS sensor, and more offline functionality. More importantly, the WSD-F20 will run Android Wear 2.0 when it’s released in April.
