The Asus ROG Phone 2, after leaks and launch rumors, has now gone official and will no doubt provide one of the most spec-laden smartphone experiences of the year (via GSMArena).
We’re still unsure gaming phones will have a long future given that many of the big players have dropped out of the market. That said, for avid mobile gamers, the Asus ROG Phone 2 might be just the ticket after hands-on photos have leaked showcasing the device on Chinese networking site Weibo (via IndiaShopps).
The gaming phone market is a strange one, one that I don’t think I will ever fully understand unless new dedicated hardware emerges. That said, Asus is doubling down on their commitment to gaming phones as a launch date for the ROG Phone 2 has now been confirmed for July 23rd.
When premium Chromebooks first started becoming popular, my favorite was the ASUS Chromebook Flip C302. Back then, it was an underdog compared to the Samsung Chromebook Plus and Pro, but in 2019, the market has grown dramatically. Does the ASUS Chromebook Flip C434, the C302’s successor, hold up? I’ve spent the past few weeks finding out.
Asus is far from the biggest name in Android, but the company is coming up with some crazy ideas in recent years. This afternoon, the Asus Zenfone 6 has gone official with some high-end specs, a notch-less display, and a unique “Flip Camera.”
Even with brands likes Razer dropping out of the gaming phone market, ASUS looks set to introduce a ROG Phone 2 at some point in Q3 2019, according to a report from DigiTimes (via GizmoChina).

Meanwhile, the Flip C214 is a new convertible, while Asus is also launching its first Chrome OS tablet with CT100.
Last week, alleged images of the Asus ZenFone 6 prototypes leaked which showed some odd experimentation with display notch placement. But the device has surfaced again, this time showing the notch on the upper right corner of the display.

Considering we have reached ‘peak notch’ on all but a few select smartphones, the trend is now taking a weirder turn in terms of both placement and implementation. Leaked images of Asus devices — rumored to be the Asus Zenfone 6 — show a series of truly ‘out there’ approaches to the screen diminishing camera slot, with some honestly, disastrous-looking efforts.
With Chrome OS continually picking up steam, new hardware is coming out constantly. Today, long-time Chrome OS OEM Asus is launching three brand new Chromebooks in different sizes, but all with affordable price tags.
The “gaming phone” trend which kicked off with the Razer Phone last year has resulted in some crazy hardware. But none have been as ambitious as the ROG Phone by Asus. Now, we’re finally getting details for that phone’s launch in the United States.
There are a lot of great Chromebooks out there from ASUS, and following some previous leaks, the new Chromebook 12 C223 has gone official…
Android Go has launched on quite a few low-end Android smartphones, and this week Asus is joining the crowd with its new ZenFone Live.

Computex 2018 is kicking off this week and from the floor in Taipei, Asus’ “Republic of Gamers” brand is revealing its first Android smartphone, the ROG Phone.
Back at CES, Asus announced the Chromebox 3, which is powered by 8th generation Intel Core CPUs. Now, without any type of announcement, the ChromeOS-running machine has shown up on several retailer’s websites for pre-order.
Since the release of the iPhone X, we’ve seen a growing number of phone manufacturers release new devices that either slightly resemble Apple’s flagship or have a similar notch in the display. Well, today Asus announced its new line of ZenFone 5 smartphones at MWC and they are basically clones of the latest iPhone…
After being last significantly updated in 2015, ASUS at CES today unveiled the Chromebox 3. This third iteration of the “small form factor solution” running Chrome OS features the latest 8th generation Intel Core chips and is launching later this year.
We don’t typically see too many smartphones announced during CES, but Asus has just taken the wraps off of its latest budget handset. Asus wanted to make a device that could last all day, so the ZenFone Max Plus (M1) packs a massive 4,130mAh mAh battery. Unfortunately, it also charges over microUSB…
The new ASUS ZenFone V offers high-end Android phone specs and design in a super affordable package, making it one of the best options around at its price point, but today the device is becoming an even better deal as this Verizon exclusive offering goes free for Thanksgiving and Black Friday only. In the video below we take the device for a hands-on test drive and show you how ASUS managed to create a super solid phone and one of the best options in its price category.
Head below for a hands-on look with the new phone:
Tango is Google’s first step into augmented reality which uses highly sensitive cameras and sensors to scan its surroundings. The latest Tango-enabled device is the Asus ZenFone AR which is meant to get the AR platform into more consumer hands. Unfortunately, our review of the handset finds that it likely has more flaws than anything else for most people, especially with a $600+ price tag.
Does the ZenFone AR offer enough to get you to use Tango or are you more interested in using other mobile AR technologies?
When it comes to Google’s Tango platform for augmented reality (formerly known as Project Tango), there aren’t a whole lot of options. In fact, up until now, the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro was the only device that supported Tango, but ASUS announced its own entry into the AR front with the ZenFone AR earlier this year at CES 2017.
Skip forward half a year, and the ZenFone AR is finally available to the masses, and even has backing from a major US carrier. Combined with its support for Google’s Daydream VR platform, the ZenFone AR could potentially be the darling phone for altered perception enthusiasts, but a proof of concept device may not be the best option for most people.
