Google launches Android 9 Pie, rolling out now to Pixel and Pixel 2

After five developer previews over an equal number of months, Google announced today that Android 9 is officially out of beta. Named “Pie,” third-party manufacturers can begin preparing device updates following the final release to AOSP. In the meantime, Android Pie is rolling out now to the Google Pixel and Pixel 2.

Google set display notch guidelines for device manufacturers with Android P

With Developer Preview 5 last week, Android P is nearing its public release set for later this summer. Reminder: Digital Wellbeing is coming ‘this fall,’ starting with Google Pixel

According to Google this morning, Developer Preview 4 is “very close to what you’ll see in the final version of Android P.” Given the nature of this “release candidate,” many assumed that this beta would include Google’s planned ‘Digital Wellbeing’ features. However, at I/O 2018, Google explicitly noted that these management features are coming “this fall.”
