Android 8.0 Oreo

Sony is one of the biggest names in Android TV with quite a few different models running on top of Google’s platform. Now, several months after it started hitting some other big names, two dozen of Sony’s Android TV are getting Oreo.
Almost three months after Android 9 Pie launched on the Pixel and Pixel 2, the latest version of Google’s operating system does not appear in the October distribution numbers. Meanwhile, Oreo is now the second most used version of Android.
In recent months, Google has been rather inconsistent at issuing Android distribution numbers. After skipping March, the company did not release June numbers and is only posting July’s today. Oreo sees the largest gain of any OS version, doubling in a two month period.
BlackBerry’s claim to fame with last year’s Keyone was secure software, and while it’s lived up to that promise with quick security updates, the phone fell flat when it came to major updates. Now, Oreo is finally available… in beta
Philips has quite a few Android TV devices out on the market today, and it seems that the company will be updating nearly all of them to Android Oreo.
