Google is rolling out the latest update to Pixel Recorder and it brings “Create music” to the Pixel 9 series, as well as other interface tweaks.
Introduced on the Pixel 10 series, this lets you add “background musical vibes” to your recordings. From Recorder’s three-dot menu, Pixel 9 users will now see “Create music” in the first grouping. This brings up a sheet with “Featured vibes”: Chill Beats, Cozy, Dance Party, Rainy Day Blues, Romantic, and Surprise Me. Alternatively, “Your vibes” lets you create something custom by choosing a genre and then feeling.
Google then analyzes your recording in a process that can take a minute or two. This entire UI makes good use of Material 3 Expressive.

The release notes also reveal how you can now “Summarize recordings in additional languages”:
- Hindi, Chinese-Mandarin, and Italian on Pixel 8,9
- Additional new languages English, German, French, and Japanese on Pixel 8
Meanwhile, this update makes a pair of tweaks to Clear Voice. On the playback page, there’s now a prominent label at the bottom of the waveform to indicate when it’s active. Tapping opens the overflow sheet to let you turn it off. You’ll notice that toggles across the app have been updated with improved checkmark or ‘x’ visibility. In Settings, it’s now called “Auto Clear Voice” with a notice about how “This uses more storage and doesn’t support external mics or stereo.”

Finally, Google has updated Recorder’s account menu to the fullscreen design. Force stop after installing the update to see it.
Version 4.2.20251104.x of Pixel Recorder is rolling out via the Play Store.
