The Wyze Window Cam is a clever $35 ‘outdoor’ camera you can set up inside [Gallery]

Outdoor cameras are perhaps the most useful ones, but they can also be a lot of work to set up. That’s why the new Wyze Window Cam looks pretty intriguing.

Available today for $35, the Wyze Window Cam is just what the name implies. It’s a camera you attach to a window that views the world outside and saves you the trouble of mounting something outside where it might be harder to run wires, or may require a drill to actually mount the camera.

The Wyze Window Cam attaches to your window entirely with adhesives. An adhesive velcro piece attaches to the window and then, on the camera itself, there’s more velcro to mount the camera to that piece. The camera sits close to the glass and views outside, with the mounting sticker also able to help reduce glare. The camera has a 120-degree field-of-view and color night vision, too.

Outside of the hardware, everything acts like a normal Wyze camera. It integrates into the Wyze app, offers microSD card support for local storage, and can integrate with Alexa and Google Home.

While there are some obvious downsides to this, like a lack of adjustability in the angle of the camera, it’s a clever solution nonetheless.

The Wyze Window Cam is available now for $35.
