Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold yet again hinted at for wider release, US included

In yet another hint that the Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold may see a wider release, regulatory info suggests that more countries outside of China and Korea are possible.

As spotted by SamMobile and Ditzel, the Galaxy Z TriFold has been certified by the Bluetooth SIG group which develops and maintains the Bluetooth standard. This has been a reasonably common way for details of new devices to leak early, with one recent example being Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 8 series.

The Galaxy Z TriFold at the Bluetooth SIG doesn’t reveal much at the surface, but the list of model numbers hints at which countries the device will be available in.

Samsung’s model numbers are split up by regional availability. The model numbers that showed up for the Galaxy Z TriFold include SM-D6390, SM-D639U, SM-D639U1, SM-D639N, and SM-D639B, which the publication notes correspond to the Chinese, Korean, carrier and unlocked US variants, and international models, respectively.

It’s been a bit back and forth in regards to whether or not Samsung would release this device outside of China and Korea, but it increasingly seems like the door is still open to more regions, including the US.

Would you buy a Galaxy Z TriFold? Samsung says the device will launch “this year.”
