Samsung pauses Android 16 rollout for Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24 series

A few weeks after it started, Samsung has officially paused the Android 16 rollout for the Galaxy S23 series just days after the same thing happened with the Galaxy S24 series.

Samsung first started sending out One UI 8 updates to Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra owners at the end of September. The rollout has expanded to the global market in the time since, but it’s now reportedly been paused as of October 21.

SamMobile reports that the rollout has “hit a snag” and been paused. The reason for the delay is unknown, but it means that anyone with a Galaxy S23 that’s yet to be updated to Android 16 will have to wait a bit longer for the update to arrive. Likely, there’s some issue that was noticed as the rollout was underway that Samsung is looking to patch before sending the update to further users.

The Galaxy S24 series (including S24 FE) was hit with the same delay last week, again with the reason not made clear.

Samsung will likely resume rollouts in the next few days, give or take, so stay tuned for more!
