The tweaks to Tab Groups in Chrome for Android continue today with Google rearranging the bottom strip of controls.
The upward-facing chevron that shows all pages in the Tab Group as a grid (which also sees some tweaks) has been moved from the left to the right.
As such, the favicons for open pages are the first thing that appears in the bar, which I can appreciate. However, the ‘plus’ icon is no longer at the very end. Instead, it appears (after a gap) to the right of the last circular page icon. The new tab button losing its fixed position is rather unfortunate for muscle memory.
If you have a lot of open pages, the plus does get docked with the chevron.
Old vs. new

This Tab Groups tweak has been rolling out in recent weeks, but we’re now seeing it widely available with Chrome 138. Force stop the browser from App info to load these tweaks.
This change follows how “Open in new tab in group” was flipped in the long-press menu.
