Samsung’s flip phone foldable is getting a little brother this year, with the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE set to deliver a more affordable experience, and a new leak shows off just how the two differ in design – and it’s really obvious.
Sent out by Evan Blass (@evleaks) in a newsletter, a new set of images offers another look at the new Galaxy Z Flip 7 colors first shown off barely 24 hours ago. Following up on that initial leak, Blass shows some other angles of both devices, which gives us another look at how the Flip 7 and Flip 7 FE will compare.
In terms of the physical design, both devices look pretty similar from the inside. There’s a hole-punch selfie camera and a big display, though the “flagship” Flip 7 pushes the display just a tiny bit closer to the edges, or at least it seems that way in these images.
The biggest change, obviously, is to the outer display. Where Flip 7 copies the Motorola Razr series in pushing its cover display to all four sides and wraps around the cameras, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE continues to use the folder-looking cover display that first debuted on Galaxy Z Flip 5. As a cost-cutting measure, it makes sense, and Motorola does the same with its base Razr (2025).

Another area we can clearly see that the two phones will differ is in their color choices. Blass shows the Flip 7 in blue, red, and black colorways, while FE is only shown in black and white. As always, though, there could be some other color variants hiding away.
Overall, though, it really seems like you’re getting some crazy bang for your buck on the Flip 7 FE, but given that pricing hasn’t fully leaked yet, it’s hard to say if the difference will really be worthwhile.
Samsung has confirmed a July 9 event to launch the Fold 7 and Flip 7, alongside other devices. Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE may be available after that too, despite prior rumors of a delay.
Samsung has reservations open now for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, with a $50 credit when you pre-order and up to $1,150+ in savings. Reservations are free, and there’s no obligation to actually buy a device if you sign up, but there’s no other time you can get that $50 credit (which can go towards Galaxy Watch 8), 3x reward points, and other perks.
