Galaxy S25 Edge pre-orders offer double storage, boosted trade-ins for these devices

Samsung isn’t new to offering pre-order deals, and it’s offering another one for its unique version of the Galaxy S25. The new Galaxy S25 Edge is up to $800 off right now with a trade-in, which makes it one of the best pre-order deals Samsung has put together. The company is also offering the familiar $50 credit and free upgraded storage with pre-order.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is undoubtedly a niche device that’s been under a tarp for a while now. Samsung has officially released the phone and packs some surprisingly capable specs. The Galaxy S25 Edge houses a Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite “for Galaxy” with 12GB of RAM. This is the same loadout as the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and it comes in at around the same screen size, albeit with a slightly less premium glass panel.

The big selling point is the thickness, coming in at only 5.8mm. For those who value a little less in their pocket, this edition of the Galaxy S25 might be the ideal choice.

The phone looks like a good option for those who want something a little more cutting edge, but it isn’t going to knock the Galaxy S24 Ultra out of the park in terms of sheer performance.

Samsung’s $50 credit and storage upgrade

Samsung has run a pre-order deal for every recent flagship phone it has released. Generally, those deals include a little bit of credit with boosted trade-in offers for most Android and Apple phones. On top of that, there is usually a free storage upgrade involved to sweeten the deal.

If you already planned on buying the Galaxy S25 Edge, the best time to do so is generally during the pre-order event. Samsung is currently giving users a $50 credit when they use NewGeekGuide links, which shows up at checkout.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is also eligible for a storage upgrade, which means the 256GB model – the largest storage variant – is the same price as the 128GB model. In essence, there’s no reason to pick the smaller option.

If you don’t plan on trading anything in, you can stop there and expect to get the 256GB Galaxy S25 Edge for the price of the smaller option, plus an additional $50 in instant credit to use on accessories.

If you are trading something in, Samsung notes that users can get up to $630 off the brand-new phone. Whether or not that’s worth it for you is a matter of preference and which phones Samsung is prioritizing. Sometimes, older devices can be traded for just as much as newer ones, making it worth it.

Below is a list of devices that can be traded in and what Samsung will give you for them…

DeviceTrade value
Galaxy S24 Ultra$630
Galaxy S24+$500
Galaxy S24$420
Galaxy Z Fold 6$630
Galaxy S23 Ultra$580
Galaxy Z Fold 5$580
Galaxy S22 Ultra$500

You can find the full list on Samsung’s website.

Overall, a savings of $800 for a $1,219 (256GB) device seems to be a pretty good deal. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge is going to be in limited supply, meaning there is no telling what prices and inventory will be like after the pre-order period.
