[Fixed] Google Home Activity feed and Settings are down on Android

As of Friday morning (PT), the Google Home app is facing some issues with the Activity feed and Settings tab.

Update: As of Friday afternoon, Google has rolled out a fix.

The Activity tab does not load and returns a “There was an error retrieving your events” error on refresh. “Retry” does not work, with the Device, Event, and Date filters doing nothing.

Meanwhile, the Settings tab is also down with a “Couldn’t connect” message and “Retry” button that fails to solve the issue.

As such, you cannot access various settings, though Google Assistant (Google app settings), Support (web), and other preferences can be accessed elsewhere.

The rest of the app is fine, with Favorites, Devices, and Automation working normally. We can turn various smart home items on/off.

Meanwhile, the issues with Activity and Settings are limited to Google Home for Android (version 3.23+). The iOS app can access everything.
