Google Photos says sticker support is still ‘coming soon’ to Android months after iOS launch

If you’ve been waiting for Google Photos on Android to gain sticker support, you’ll need to keep waiting a while longer, even as we get confirmation the feature is still in the works.

Google shared an update for how sticker collections work on iOS this week, automatically saving stickers on iPhone and iPad to a new “Collections” space. That’ll allow you to quickly and easily find and reshare older stickers without having to recreate your selection from an image every time, but for Android users unable to use this feature, it’s an update that doesn’t actually leave any impact.

The good news, of course, is that Google’s announcement re-confirms that stickers are “coming soon” to Android. However, the company said something similar nearly five months ago now when stickers initially arrived on iPhone, with the announcement noting “Android support hasn’t rolled out yet, but we’ll keep you posted when that changes.” While this new “coming soon” verbiage sounds closer to an actual launch, it’s a little frustrating to see stickers still missing from Android in 2026. Fingers crossed we aren’t waiting too much longer.

If you’re rocking an iPhone or iPad, this update should be rolling out to your device via the App Store.
