A few months after it landed on other platforms, “Gemini in Chrome” is finally starting to appear on ChromeOS.
Having rolled out widely in September 2025, Gemini in Chrome allows users to quickly access the AI assistant with the ability to reference their current browser tabs to summarize or compare information, among many other options such as referencing previously-visited webpages.
But, for ChromeOS users, Google hasn’t yet made the feature available, but it’s finally starting to appear.
As spotted by one of our readers on Twitter/X, Gemini in Chrome has started to surface on ChromeOS in the latest Canary builds.

While this is arriving months later than Windows and macOS, Google did confirm recently that Chrome 144 was indeed the plan to start the ChromeOS rollout. On a support page, Google says:
Chrome 144 on ChromeOS: As early as 144 Gemini in Chrome will be rolling out gradually to selective ChromeOS devices
Specifically, it appears to be heading to Chromebook Plus machines first.
We’ll have to wait a bit longer for wide availability, but it’s nice to see the ball finally rolling.
