According to a new report, Samsung’s delayed Galaxy S26 launch will result in a release date for the whole series in mid-March.
Dealabs reports that, at least in France, Samsung is planning a March 11 release date for the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra.
That March 11 date would come after a February 26 launch event which would take place at 7pm local time in France, or 12pm ET / 9am PT. While release dates for the Galaxy S26 series will very likely vary between regions, a March 11 release in France is likely going to be the same date we see in the United States, other portions of Europe, and Korea, among other major markets.
This would be the latest Galaxy S release date in years, as the Galaxy S25 series hit shelves on February 7, 2025, the Galaxy S24 before that on January 31, 2024, and even the Galaxy S23 series having released on February 17, 2023. March 11 would be the latest date for a Galaxy S series since 2018’s Galaxy S9, which launched on March 16, 2018.
Samsung’s plans for the Galaxy S26 series have been a bit messy, as the company quite literally flipped the whole strategy on its head in recent months. Originally, the lineup was expected to consist of the standard Ultra backed up by a rebranded Galaxy S26 “Pro” at the smallest screen size, and with the Galaxy S26 Edge filling in as the third model.
But that slowly changed. In October, it was reported that the “Pro” branding had been thrown out, with the failure of the Galaxy S25 Edge and the iPhone Air pushing Samsung to ditch the Galaxy S26 Edge as well and revive the Plus model. That move is ultimately what caused a delay for Samsung in releasing its 2026 flagship which, usually, would be just days away from launch at this point in mid-January. It’s also been mentioned that Apple’s decision to keep iPhone 17 pricing the same caused Samsung to reconsider many of its plans, including ditching an overdue camera upgrade.
