Motorola ‘Signature’ leaks with flagship-like specs, thin design, 7 years of updates

Motorola is seemingly about to unveil a new flagship-tier smartphone called “Signature,” and its specs look pretty compelling.

Motorola certainly isn’t the first name you think of in terms of flagship smartphones, but the company is apparently planning a new effort in the space. Motorola “Signature” has been leaking in recent weeks, and a huge new leak details basically everything about the device.

Evan Blass, better known as @evleaks, detailed the full specs of the Motorola Signature in a post on Twitter/X. This includes an image of the device, which falls in line with other Motorola designs in recent years, but with some premium flair. The specs are what really stand out, though, as they fall in the ballpark of a flagship device.

This includes a 6.8-inch LPTO AMOLED display with remarkably slim bezels for a 95% screen-to-body ratio and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and there are rumors of stylus support. It also has up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage, up to 16GB of RAM, a 5,200 mAh silicon-carbon battery, 90W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, all wrapped up in a remarkably thin 6.99mm chassis. The camera array is made up of a trio of 50MP cameras, including a Sony LYTIA 828 main sensor, ultrawide with macro support, and a 3x telephoto camera. There’s also a 50MP front-facing camera.

Perhaps the biggest standout is the software. Signature has Android 16 out of the box, with 7 years of both security and OS updates, way beyond the usual for Motorola devices. The only spec that sits below a “true” flagship is the chipset, which is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 instead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite.

As far as a release date goes, Motorola is expected to release “Signature” soon, and it could come as soon as this week seeing as Motorola has been teasing some new announcements.
