While Samsung has leveraged Google’s Gemini in major ways on Galaxy devices, the company is apparently looking to Perplexity to upgrade its often-forgotten Bixby assistant.
Known Samsung leaker @chunvn8888 claims that Samsung will integrate Perplexity into Bixby in a way that resembles how Apple integrates ChatGPT into Siri. This would see Samsung’s assistant handle some “basic” tasks on its own, while handing off other, more complicated ones to Perplexity.
Apparently, this would debut on the Galaxy S26 series.
It’s not really been a secret that Samsung has had its eye on a Perplexity deal for a while now. Reports earlier this year revealed talks between the two, with potential impacts including Perplexity being pre-installed on Galaxy devices and upgrading Bixby, as is now rumored to be the case.
Samsung itself commented on the matter, saying that Google’s Gemini “will not be the only AI assistant we’re going to integrate with Galaxy.”
Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series is expected to be released early next year, though a bit later than it has in past years.
