The revamped Google TV homescreen is more widely rolling out to users.
After first appearing in September, an update the Google TV homescreen has been trickling out to users over the past few weeks. Now, though, it seems things are accelerating. We’re seeing more user reports around the wider rollout on devices including Chromecast with Google TV, and our own readers have also been reporting the change. In our own testing, we’ve also seen the updated UI go live on an additional Hisense TV since going live on our two Google TV Streamers that received the update about a week ago.
Google still seems to be rolling this one out, but it’s clear the pace is picking up. Let us know in the comments below if you’re seeing the update yet and what device it’s on.
Gemini is also rolling out, as some have seen, but still in a quite limited capacity.
What’s actually new in the Google TV homescreen update? As we detailed last week, it includes a navigation revamp that simplifies the layout and moves the “Library” and “Watchlist” sections into a new menu that has a profile switcher.
