Galaxy Buds 4 Pro leak suggests head gestures are coming, AirPods-like design stays

As the Galaxy S26 series comes into view, the Galaxy Buds 4 lineup is expected to accompany it when it launches sometime in early 2026. New leaks reveal the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro design and an exciting new feature.

In a similar way we found out what the Galaxy Z TriFold looks like, we’re finding out whether or not Samsung will keep the Apple-like stemmed design going into the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro launch. Leaks of internal animations reveal the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro’s design, though a CAD-like level of detail is missing (via Android Authority).

The animations give a pretty good look at the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro from most angles. A stem is still present in the upcoming iteration, just like the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. The difference here comes in small design cues, like a more rounded point at the bottom of the stem, rather than a triangular nub. The long LED strip appears to be missing, as well.

The driver chassis is also designed a bit differently this time around. The earbuds adopt more of a traditional Galaxy Buds look, where lines and curves favor rounded, smooth lines over sharp edges.

The uncovered animations demonstrate the Buds’ pinch gestures for pause/play and volume. The Galaxy Buds 4 Pro will likely also offer other gesture controls we’ve seen before, like a Gemini shortcut.

What we haven’t seen is something described as “Head Gestures” in the latest APK teardown. It looks like Samsung is bringing something similar to what the Pixel Buds Pro 2 began offering earlier in the year. Head gestures will allow users to decline and answer calls with a simple nod or head shake.

The features goes a little deeper in allowing the user to choose what each actions does in One UI 8.5. Users will also be able to trigger read-aloud notifications, dismiss timers, alarms, and calendar alerts, as well as answer a preferred AI assistant’s questions with “yes” or “no.”

These pre-release Galaxy Buds 4 Pro leaks are a soft foundation for upcoming releases, but there’s a good amount to glean from Samsung’s own animations and unreleased code. The Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are shaping up to be a sizeable release, though official details have yet to make the rounds.

The Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are expected to launch alongside the Galaxy S26 series sometime in January or February 2026.
