Oppo has a new book-style foldable in the works, with the alleged Oppo Find N6 ready to put up a fight against the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with a huge 6,000 mAh battery.
The Oppo Find N5 launched early last year and immediately set the tone for 2025 foldables. It managed to pack a huge battery, two large displays, a capable camera system, and more into what was, at the time, a record-breaking form factor in terms of thickness. That record was relatively short-lived as Honor and Samsung broke it later in the year, but the Find N5 is still one of the best foldables on the market today. Which is why it’s such a shame that Oppo has limited sales of the device to a very small list of regions.
While release details on its sequel are unclear, rumors are coming out regarding the Oppo Find N6, and it’s shaping up to be a worthy sequel.
Leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo says that the Oppo Find N6 (via GizmoChina) will offer a 6.6-inch display on the outside ond an 8.1-inch display on the inside. That’s about the same size as the Find N5, but the leaker says that the device will be “even thinner and lighter.”
The Oppo Find N6 would further come with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset as well as a bigger battery. The “aim” for the battery size is apparently around 6,000 mAh. That’s huge for a thin and light foldable, but it’s also only marginally bigger than the 5,600 mAh battery in the Oppo Find N5. Any upgrade is worthwhile, of course, but it’s not like Oppo is struggling in this department today, especially looking at the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s laughable-by-comparison 4,400 mAh battery.
The post goes on to mention a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto camera lens as well as a 50MP main camera using a Sony LYT808 sensor. There would also be “customizable buttons,” presumably referring to the Oppo & OnePlus change from the “Alert Slider” to a button that can be adjusted in the software – wonder where they got that idea. Finally, the device would still support wireless charging, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and the same water resistance.
It’s not yet clear when the Oppo Find N6 might be released, but the Find N5 launched in February 2025.
