Here’s how fast AAWireless TWO+ switches between wireless Android Auto and CarPlay [Video]

AAWireless TWO+ is finally here to bring CarPlay support to what we think is the best wireless Android Auto adapter, and the way and speed at which it works is part of what makes it stand out from the crowd.

Wireless Android Auto adapters started with AAWireless, but they’ve become a bit of a commodity at this point. You don’t have to go searching far to find one, nor do you even need to spend all that much money. The same can be said about CarPlay adapters, but there are not quite as many options for getting both platforms in one.

So why bother with AAWireless TWO+? I think there are a couple of key reasons.

First and foremost, there’s just the polish in the experience. AAWireless has spent the past few years building out the foundation of this product. The experience of using one of these adapters for wireless Android Auto is already, at least in my mind, second to none from a software standpoint. Not only are there continued software updates to patch bugs with new phones and vehicles, but there are a ton of settings to tweak to best tailor the experience to your needs.

A prime example of where this is useful is in the ability to customize the button functionality.

And then, yes, there’s that button.

The button on AAWireless TWO+ makes it literally thoughtless to switch between connected phones. The adapter will automatically prioritize the last-connected device, but a single press swaps to the next one in line. If that phone isn’t nearby, it moves on to the next one. In the car I’ve been testing this in, I’ve been using it with my Galaxy Z Fold 7, my iPhone 15 Pro, and my wife’s Pixel 10 Pro. It’s pretty darn seamless.

In switching between Android Auto and CarPlay, it’s also remarkably quick given what’s going on behind the scenes.

As seen below, it takes about 25 seconds to switch between the two platforms. My Galaxy Z Fold 7 immediately disconnects on pushing the button and, shortly after, CarPlay boots up from my iPhone. I suspect this might be even faster if the adapter isn’t searching for a third device, but I’m also still very pleased with the speed it’s been managing in my testing thus far. It’s also faster than you’d get from a lot of other Android Auto/CarPlay adapters as many don’t feature a dedicated button for switching, instead relying on you to dig around in Bluetooth settings to make it happen.

AAWireless TWO+ is available today for $64.99 and coming to Amazon soon. If you’re looking for a dual-adapter for Android Auto and CarPlay, I think it’s a no-brainer already, but stay tuned for a full review in the coming weeks!
