Samsung confirms Android XR headset event on October 21, $100 credit with reservation

Samsung has confirmed an October 21 event where it will announce its Android XR headset, Project Moohan, and reservations are now open with a $100 credit.

Following various rumors and reports on the matter, Samsung has confirmed an October 21 launch event where it will fully detail its first Android XR headset, which is still known as “Project Moohan.” Presumably, we’ll get a full name for the headset at this event.

Samsung teases “immersive, everyday experiences” with the headset, and is calling the event “Worlds Wide Open” rather than its typical mobile-focused “Unpacked.”

At the heart of Samsung’s mobile AI vision is Android XR, co-developed with Google and Qualcomm – a platform optimized with AI from the start to scale across form factors, bringing intelligence to immersive, everyday experiences. Project Moohan blends everyday utility with immersive new experiences, unlocking a whole new dimension of possibility and setting a new benchmark for XR.

The launch event will be streaming on Samsung’s YouTube channel at 10pm ET/7pm PT on Tuesday, October 21.

Samsung adds that reservations for the Android XR headset are now open with a $100 credit that can be used towards “additional products.” Pricing details are unclear, but reports have mentioned a price upwards of $1,800. You can reserve now on Samsung’s website, for free, with the credit available on purchase.
