Samsung’s wider Wear OS 6 update starts rolling out to Galaxy Watch 7

The Galaxy Watch 7 series is reportedly getting a One UI 8 update based on Wear OS 6 in certain regions, marking the start of a wider rollout to more Galaxy Watch devices.

One UI 8 brings a number of changes to the Galaxy Watch series. Namely, the addition of UI elements like new stacking tiles and easier app management changes the feel of the watch series. The Wear OS 6 update initially launched with the Galaxy Watch 8, though the Watch 7 and others were able to join an open beta prior to a wider rollout.

That larger stable release is starting today, according to a post on Twitter/X by @tarunvats33. The post shows a screenshot of the One UI 8 changelog for the Galaxy Watch 7, though it appears limited to Korea. That’s likely to change, and something that’s more than expected.

The changelog offers no new information that diverges from the One UI 8 we’re familiar with on the Watch 8 series. The notes detail basic update language, nothing entirely specific.

The One UI 8 Watch update seems to be specific to the Galaxy Watch 7 in both models—40 mm and 44mm. The Galaxy Watch Ultra is not part of this rollout phase because it already received an update in July 2025. That leaves two basic models in this phase.

Samsung promised an update to One UI 8 in August 2025, taking place “later in the year.” That promise has come true, and Samsung stuck to its word regarding timing with little time left in the year. We’re expecting more devices to see Samsung’s build of Wear OS 6 soon, though there is little information to go on.

One UI 8 Watch based on Wear OS 6 should begin rolling out to the Galaxy Watch 7 in more regions in the coming days and weeks.
