Google’s latest Nest Cam model has switched over to USB-C, a minor change but one that’s appreciated for continuity’s sake.
With its new Nest Cam Indoor (3rd gen, wired), Google has switched from USB-A to USB-C for the power adapter.
The prior model, launched in 2021, shipped with a long 10ft cable that was fixed on one end for the camera, and ended with a USB-A connection for the included power brick.
This latest update still has a fixed cable, but this time with USB-C on the other end. Google includes a 7.5W wall adapter in the box that’s in the same style as its USB-C chargers for Pixel.

It’s a minor change, definitely, but one that might be handy if you’re powering your camera with a USB-C hub, but also just for the sake of simplicity moving forward. With virtually every other piece of tech having moved to USB-C over the past several years, it only makes sense to make the switch here.
The latest Nest Cam Outdoor does not have USB-C at any point, rather using a more weatherproof connection. The new Nest Doorbell, being designed for a wired connection, also does not have USB-C, but the battery-powered model does have a USB-C port for charging.
