Visible is finally stepping out of the shadows of the internet and into physical stores, starting with a new SIM kit at Best Buy.
Visible announced that it would be bringing a new experience to Best Buy based on its app-driven approach. The company is owned by Verizon but operates independently using the giant’s cell network. Through the app, users can download and switch eSIMs and manage their subscriptions at prices that generally come in lower than what Verizon offers.
According to Visible, the new SIM kits offered in Best Buy will provide that same experience. The idea is to present a dead-simple way to grab a physical SIM and connect. Once the SIM is installed and an account is created through the app, the service is relatively easy to get started.
The entry into Best Buy’s store will also allow customers to check if their phones work with Visible’s network.
Visible says that the physical SIM kit in stores changes nothing about its plans. It still offers unlimited data, text, and hotspots starting at $25/month. For the majority of users, that’s a very good deal. It even includes the new (but not new) Visible “Inner Circle” for savings among friends and family.
The rollout was immediately effective online, but in-store availability was going to take time, according to Visible. That seems accurate as we’re now seeing SIM kits available in local Best Buy locations.
