Google Home Premium replaces Nest Aware, now included with Google AI Pro

With the launch of Gemini on Home, Nest Aware is no more. It’s being rebranded to Google Home Premium with an Advanced tier that unlocks the full set of “AI camera” capabilities.

Google Home Premium’s Standard tier is $10 per month or $100 annually. Like before, you get 30 days of event-based video history from your cameras and doorbells. You also get what Google calls “Whole-home history” that lets you see activity from compatible devices in the Home app.

Then there are intelligent alerts for familiar faces, package, and garage door detection. Sound detection via displays and speakers can hear glass breaking and smoke alarms, while there’s also emergency calling.

You also get access to Gemini Live on speakers and displays, as well as Help me create to conversationally generate Automations.

Now even the so-called Premium tier is tiered. Who in their right mind thought “Premium Standard” was a sensible name?

In a nice bundling, the $19.99/month Google AI Pro, which unlocks Gemini 2.5 Pro and other features, includes this Google Home Premium Standard tier.

Then there’s Google Home Premium Advanced for $20 per month or $200 annually. Like before, you get 60 days of event video history and up to 10 days of 24/7 video history.

The first new feature unlocked by Gemini is the ability to have Gemini search your video history. You can ask complex and conversational queries. As part of this, Google will generate detailed event descriptions for your camera and doorbell footage. This is joined by Home Brief daily summaries.

As an AI Pro subscriber, you can pay $10 more for Advanced, while it’s included with the $249.99/month Google AI Ultra plan.
