Apple Music 5.0 update adds iOS 26 features to Android

After beta testing got underway last month, version 5.0 of Apple Music is rolling out to the stable channel following the release of iOS 26 last week.

Apple Music 5.0 brings three main iOS 26 features to Android. You can now pin songs, albums, playlists, and artists in the Library tab for immediate access. “Pin” is a new button at the top of various three-dot overflow menus throughout the updated app.

They appear as a grid, with a long-press letting you unpin, as well as customize the Tap Action: Go to Album/Playlist/etc., Play, or Shuffle. Pins sync across your Apple devices (Mac, iPad, etc.) for a consistent experience. Pins can be set to automatically download, though this can be disabled in Settings.

Then there’s Lyrics Translation & Pronunciation: “Understand the lyrics and sing along across languages.” In Settings, scroll to Display Options (near the bottom) for the Lyrics menu to choose where you want Lyrics of Pronunciation to appear larger when both are displayed. Apple says lyrics are translated using machine learning “with fine-tuning from language experts” to “ensure the emotion, cultural context, and lyrical intent are fully preserved.”

Finally, the Replay experience now lets you “Check out your month-by-month and year-end stats easily in-app.”

This update does not add AutoMix, which uses “AI to analyze audio features, it crafts unique transitions between songs with time stretching and beat matching to deliver continuous playback.”

The app’s design is also unchanged, with the same five-tab bottom bar and miniplayer. This update does not bring Liquid Glass, but various buttons (like shuffle, repeat, and autoplay) in the app are now pill-shaped instead of rounded rectangles.

Apple Music 5.0 is rolling out via the Play Store. Those that joined the beta will automatically get the stable release.
