YouTube TV and Premium now eligible for $25 credit from American Express Platinum

YouTube’s subscriptions are now eligible for the $25 monthly entertainment credit that comes with the American Express Platinum card, which just received a refresh.

The American Express Platinum card comes with a number of different benefits and perks, one of which being a monthly credit to cover the cost of streaming subscriptions. Previously, the credit was for $240 per year – $20 per month – and covered Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu, The New York Times, Peacock, Paramount+, SiriusXM, and The Wall Street Journal.

Now, YouTube services are being added to the mix.

With today’s American Express Platinum card refresh, the entertainment credit has been expanded to $300 per year ($25 per month) and adds YouTube Premium and YouTube TV.

To redeem the credit, Platinum cardholders need to bill their YouTube Premium or YouTube TV subscriptions via their card, then a statement credit will arrive – “up to 8 weeks” later – to cover that cost. This credit is for all of the listed services, so if you bill more than one, you’ll still get a credit either way.

American Express explains:

Experience the latest shows, news and recipes. Get up to $25 in statement credits each month when you use your Platinum Card® for eligible purchases on Disney+, a Disney+ bundle, ESPN+, Hulu, The New York Times, Paramount+, Peacock, The Wall Street Journal, YouTube Premium, and YouTube TV when you purchase directly from one or more of the providers. This can be an annual savings of up to $300. Enrollment required.

This comes as the American Express Platinum card is getting an overall refresh with newly added perks and, most notably, a higher fee. Where the card previously cost $695 per year, it now costs $895.
