Lenovo launches second-gen Legion Go 8.8 with Windows alongside new Android tablets

At IFA 2025, Lenovo is launching its new Legion Go 8.8 gaming handheld with Windows while also debuting some new Android tablets and more.

Lenovo has a ton of new devices to show off at IFA 2025, as usual, but one of the biggest new launches is the second-gen Legion Go 8.8. This new handheld revives the company’s Switch-like handheld with the same big 8.8-inch, 144Hz OLED display, but adds the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor under the hood. The battery is also way bigger at 74Whr, which Lenovo says is a 50% upgrade over the prior generation.

In terms of the actual hardware, the detachable controllers are more ergonomic while still featuring support for mouse-like controls. There are also three user-programmable buttons. In a fun twist, these new controllers also work with the first-gen Legion Go.

If you were hoping for Valve’s SteamOS to be on this new model, that’s not the case. Instead, it runs Windows.

The new Legion Go 8.8 will be available in the US in October for $1,049.

Lenovo also has two new Android tablets to show off.

The Yoga Tab with Yoga Pen has an 11.1-inch 144Hz display and runs on top of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Lenovo is leaning heavily on that chip for AI power, which includes Circle to Search and Gemini features, but also Lenovo’s own AI features such as “SuperRes” for upscaling photos, voice to text via AI Live Transcript, Smart AI Input which can generate or refine text, and Sketch-to-Image within Lenovo Smart Capture. The tablet also comes pre-loaded with Perplexity Pro and Adobe Creative Suite.

Meanwhile, the Lenovo Idea Tab Plus also has a handful of AI features (and Google’s too) with a 12.1-inch display and the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset.

Lenovo Yoga Tab launches this month for $549 while the Idea Tab Plus launches in October for $269.
