Some Pixel 10 owners get September 2025 update

The Pixel 10 series launched with Android 16 QPR1, and some owners are now seeing a September 2025 security patch update.

The Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL have a day one update to BD3A.250721.001 (or .A1 for “NA GStore”) with the August 5, 2025 security update. This is already Android 16 QPR1 with the full Material 3 Expressive redesign.

A handful of Pixel 10 series owners this afternoon have received a 70~ MB update. The build number after installing is BD3A.250721.001.B7, while it’s the September 5, 2025 security patch. (The Google Play system update remains on June 1, 2025.)

Hopefully, there are also bug fixes, but this should be a straightforward update.  (The phones aren’t available in the Android Beta Program yet.)

Not all Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL users are seeing this update. These new factory and OTA images are not yet live.

With last week’s launch, the factory image page confirmed the latest horse-themed codenames:

  • Pixel 10: frankel
  • Pixel 10 Pro: blazer
  • Pixel 10 Pro XL: mustang
