The Galaxy S25 Edge launched at the wrong time for the wrong price, even though it’s objectively a high-end device. The Galaxy S25 Edge appears to be $400 off right now with a surprise Amazon deal, and it could be enough to remedy some of the phone’s obvious flaws.
The Galaxy S25 Edge took a lot of weight on its shoulders when it launched alone for a high $1,000 MSRP. Sure, it measures only 5.8mm thick and weighs practically nothing, but that alone wasn’t enough to prop it up as a killer flagship device.
It isn’t a bad choice for anyone, really. Samsung packs a full-power Snapdragon 8 Elite and 12GB of RAM with 256GB or 512GB of storage. The phone also has a 200MP primary sensor and a 12MP ultrawide camera on the back. Where it falters is in battery, with a 3,900mAh capacity, where 5,000mAh and up is becoming standard practice. For full price, that’s asking a lot.
At $699, the 256GB Galaxy S25 Edge, oddly enough, starts to seem like a fair option. The market right now is offering up Android options for just under a grand and beyond, and each phone isn’t created equal. To find something that’s less than a year old for just under $700 is almost unheard of. That’s where the Galaxy S25 Edge sits with its current deal.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is among the first in line when it comes to software updates and upgrades. It doesn’t have access to One UI 8 in its stable form, but the beta program is open to the phone. The fact that the full version of One UI 8 isn’t available, though it carries the “S25” moniker, might tell you something. It’s the only Galaxy S25 model without access, just yet. That’s expected to come soon.
Samsung is clearly trying to slim its stock of Galaxy S25 Edge units, considering it didn’t appear to sell all too well when it launched in May. At the original price, it’s a hard pill to swallow, though it likely accounts for R&D and other costs associated with creating a one-off device in a thinner chassis than ever before. At $699, though, there’s little to complain about.
The current deal Samsung’s putting on is even better than the one seen two months ago. If the phone returns to full MSRP, it would be best to hold off.
