Yes, you read that correctly. Google’s lineup of Pixelsnap cases for the Pixel 10 series actually fit the Pixel 9. However, it’s not quite a perfect fit.
Despite our hopes that Google might make cases fully compatible for the Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 and some confusion around the official dimensions, it’s worth noting that you won’t be able to use the same cases across both device generations. That said, it’s not a complete disaster for those with Pixel 9 handsets.
This is a situation somewhat of Google’s making, as the firm’s official storefront has all the same dimensions listed for the Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 lineup. Yes, the physical dimensions are almost identical. However, the camera bar is where you will encounter issues trying to force your new phone into an older case.
The Pixel 10 camera bar will not quite squeeze into the cutout section on older cases. Instead, it’ll bulge and distort.

There is some good news, though, for Pixel 9 owners. You can pick up an official Pixel 10 case or a third-party case for your Pixel 9 handset, and it will fit. The only downside is that there will be a visible gap of around a millimeter under the camera bar. All other cutouts and button covers should line up without any major problems. So you have a one-way solution.
That said, if you have the newest model and maybe want to pick up some cheap accessories from last year’s model, please avoid picking those up if you want a seamless experience.
