Leaks from Philips Hue itself as well as other sources have revealed that the new Hue Bridge Pro will support more devices and convert bulbs into motion sensors, and now we know how much that might cost as the latest leak reveals the price and a release date.
To recap what we know about the Hue Bridge Pro, the upgraded device will support over 150 lights – 3x the current limit – while also expanding connectivity for additional sensors and switches. It further supports connection over Wi-Fi and delivers support for turning Hue bulbs into motion sensors, somehow.
It all looks pretty exciting, but at what cost?
Hue Blog reports that the Philips Hue Bridge Pro will land at a retail price of €89.99, up from the €59.99 of the existing model. Based on the existing US pricing of the Hue Bridge at $66, we’d be looking at a price of around $95-100 for the Philips Hue Bridge Pro.
Beyond that, the publication adds that the Bridge Pro will be released and start shipping on September 4 following a media event in Berlin around the IFA tech conference.
