‘Google Password Manager’ shortcut is now available in the Play Store

In addition to the Material 3 Expressive redesign, Google has released a Password Manager “app” that serves as a more prominent homescreen shortcut.

“Google Password Manager” in the Play Store simply serves as a shortcut to the existing experience powered by Google Play services. The icon is a key in the four Google colors against a white background, while it’s simply called “Passwords.”

Compared to the shortcut you’ve been able to add in the past, this icon isn’t annoyingly badged with a second key icon in the lower-right corner (as seen in the cover image above). This approach also lets it appear in the full app grid and device search.

This joins other shortcut experiences like Gemini and Google Assistant before that.
