Google hints Gemini for Android Auto and Google TV may be just a few weeks away

Following a prior announcement, Google has given us a slightly more specific timeline for Gemini’s debut on Android Auto and Google TV, but it’s still at least a few weeks away.

Around Google I/O back in May, the company confirmed that, yes, Gemini is coming to Android Auto. But the only timeline provided was “in the coming months” which, frankly, could mean anything. This week, Google has offered a bit more detail.

During this week’s Made by Google event to launch the Pixel 10 series, Rick Osterloh said:

…already, you can use Gemini on your phone and you can use it on your watch, and earbuds. This Fall, it’s going to be coming to your car, your TV, and your speakers and smart displays. …It’s a big deal, it’s got to be everywhere that you are.

The “Fall” date means that we’re likely to see Gemini for Android Auto sometime in September, October, or November. That’s not exactly a release date, but it’s better than anything we’d heard so far.

The comment also confirms that Gemini’s debut on Google TV isn’t too far off either. Google started teasing this debut early in 2025, similarly saying at I/O that its debut was sometime “later this year.” With the mention of a “Fall” timeline, we’re again getting a slightly smaller window of when to expect this debut.

During today’s event, Google also teased a new smart speaker with Gemini while announcing more details.
