Google’s new Pixel Flex Dual Port charger prioritizes your Pixel 10, but at a cost

The entire Pixel 10 series is rocking some serious charging improvements, and the fun doesn’t just extend to Pixelsnap and Qi2. Alongside the phones, Google is also launching the Pixel Flex Dual Port charger, capable of prioritizing your Pixel’s battery over all else — if you’re willing to shell out some serious cash, that is.

Google’s new optional charging brick retains a similar design to last year’s 45W charger, with an elongated look that, in theory, prevents the device from falling out from loose outlets often found in hotel rooms or Airbnbs. Rather than utilize downward facing ports — as we’ve seen with recent bricks from companies like Anker — the Pixel Flex Dual Port has its titular pair of USB-C connectors facing outward from the opposite side. It looks like a pretty decent upgrade over last year’s offering thanks to those folding prongs, even if it’s far from the smallest power adapter on the market.

That refreshed design is also backed up by some solid spec improvements. The two ports deliver a combined 67W PPS output to provide fast-charging to a wide variety of gadgets, not just Pixels. Simultaneously, however, the device is capable of prioritizing a Pixel whenever it detects one, making sure it’s juiced up without cutting off power completely to the secondary device.

It’s not going to come cheap, though. At $60, the Pixel Flex Dual Port charger is twice the price of last year’s 45W, single USB-C outlet, and once you’re in that price range, there’s no shortage of really excellent third-party offerings to pick from. Still, if you’re all in on Pixel 10, this feels like the ideal travel charger; you’re not going to find this sort of Pixel prioritization anywhere else.
