Samsung is launching an updated “Fan Edition” pair of earbuds, with the new Galaxy Buds 3 FE supporting Google’s Gemini as well as other new features, and getting an updated design too.
Now more in line with the look of the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 3 FE ditch the “bean” look of the previous generation. The updated design lacks the (mostly pointless) LED strips found in Samsung’s other earbuds, but they do support ANC with a silicone eartip design.
Samsung says:
Building on Samsung’s understanding of sound as the most essential part of the user experience, Galaxy Buds3 FE were made for the quiet moments on a crowded train, calls on a windy street, and the playlist that powers the walk home. With a larger speaker, Buds3 FE deliver rich, powerful sound with deep bass and clear treble. Enhanced ANC reduces ambient noise, creating a more immersive listening experience. Crystal Clear Call technology uses an advanced pre-trained machine learning model to isolate your voice, ensuring conversations remain clear even in noisy environments. The call experience is also improved by the adjusted microphone position, which is optimized for voice pickup with microphones facing towards the user’s mouth.
The company adds that you can expect around 6 hours of ANC battery life (8.5 hours with ANC off) from the earbuds and an added 24 hours (with ANC on) from the case.

But one of the big new features here is Gemini support, as these are Samsung’s first earbuds to launch with the AI assistant baked in. Samsung says users can expect “hands-free access to Gemini” using a “Hey Google” command, in addition to the existing Bixby support. Google first launched earbud integration for Gemini on Pixel Buds Pro 2, but an expansion was promised earlier this year.
Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro support Gemini now as well, but the rollout has been quite slow and is currently limited to Android 16 (One UI 8).
We’ve asked Samsung if Gemini is limited to One UI 8 on Galaxy Buds 3 FE, but the company has yet to confirm. We’ll provide updates on the feature as new information becomes available.
Galaxy Buds 3 FE will be available starting on September 4, with no pre-orders available through Samsung.com as of yet. The earbuds will cost $149.99, a $50 increase over the prior generation.
