Samsung has made note of the Galaxy Buds 3 FE in some capacity previously, but a newly leaked render exhibits a much better look at the Fan Edition earbuds.
Update 8/6: There have been more images of the Galaxy Buds 3 FE leaked online, this time in black (via Android Headlines). The original images were removed and never made another appearance (see below). The new leak showcases the buds in a deep matte black colorway, though rendered colorways can sometimes differ from the final product, especially in terms of finish. This differs from Samsung’s dark grey colorway for the Buds 3 Pro, which were not as sleek as these. The Buds 3 FE could end up being more glossy, though it’s too soon to know.
In a post to Twitter/X, @evleaks posted an image that shows off a familiar pair of earbuds, though the render is no longer visible at the time of writing. The Galaxy Buds 3 FE take on the design of the Buds 3 Pro, which proved to be a large departure for the company when they were released last year.
The design of the Buds 3 wildly differed from anything Samsung had done in the past, and connections were immediately drawn to Apple’s AirPods lineup. The Buds 3 differed in that they offered several distinct design choices, like LED status lights.
Samsung is apparently choosing to keep that design going, and Galaxy Buds 3 FE renders more or less prove that to be the case. The renders showcase a design that mimics the Pro variant, and not the more affordable Galaxy Buds 3 model. In almost every detail available in the render, there seems to be no difference.
It’s unclear whether the Buds 3 FE will incorporate the same lighting features, or anything else for that matter. The FE buds will likely follow the same recipe of cutting enough corners to bring the price down without massive sacrifices.
It’s interesting that Samsung is choosing not to take the design of the new FE buds from the Galaxy Buds 3, and instead using the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro as reference. For fit and comfort, the Buds 3 FE may prove to be a better buy than the Buds 3 base model.
